The next day, Bette and Tina went to Seaport Village to browse through the small shops. Bette was finally able to wear a shoe and put a little bit of weight on her injured ankle. She still used the crutches as a precaution, like Tina had asked her.
«I don’t want you to go to fast and hurt your ankle again baby», she had said with such tenderness and worry in her voice that Bette hadn’t been able to go against her wishes. Besides, she liked when Tina took care of her like she had done in the past few days.
They went back to the beach and spent more time talking about their future and the family they would have someday. The headed downtown for dinner and went to a gay club to have a drink. They were looking around the place when Bette was tapped on the shoulder. She turned around and came face to face with Officer Amanda !
«Hi, fancy meeting you here», the policewoman told Bette with a very engaging smile.
«Hi again, Officer», Bette replied, well aware of the look Tina was giving her.
«It’s Mandy for you… May I buy you a drink?», she offered, trying to get the bartender’s attention.
«No thanks. I’m here with my girlfriend… Officer, I’d like you to meet Tina», Bette said, hoping the girl would get the message loud and clear. Amanda looked at Tina and nodded. «So that means no? For the drink…»
Bette rolled her eyes. «Most definitely…», she added. Amanda walked away, muttering something about Bette’s loss.
«Can you believe that woman ? God, she has some nerves coming on to you like that when I’m sitting right here… Do you think I’m hotter than she is ?», Tina asked as she followed Amanda with her eyes. The woman was drop dead gorgeous.
«In my eyes, you’re the most beautiful woman in the place T», Bette replied, looking lovingly at Tina. When they went back to their room, they made love very slowly, and yet very passionately. They wanted to forget about everything for one more magical night. Tomorrow, they would to get back to L.A. and deal with the whole Joe thing again. When Bette had talked to the officers in charge of the case, they still hadn’t found him, but they had a pretty strong lead. «It’s just a matter of days now Miss Porter», the officer had said.

OMG, the drama. come on, now Tina’s gonna think its her fault. Please don’t let her mother die. These need at least a chance to get started.

Oh God, how much more can Tina take? First her boyfriend goes nutsy bobo and then her mom’s problem. I am sure her dad will say T is welcome to come as long as she leaves her lesbian lover at home.
I think a fine opportunity was to use Amanda the cop to catch Joe on the rampage during their vacation. Oh, the rollercoaster of love. …I’m going to call you Chicki Jr. Thanks!

Hey Milady, Just when things with Joe were sorted another tradegy befalls Bette and Tina. The massage was great but now Bette really has to be there for Tina. I can’t wait to see how this all palys out. More please of this magical melodrama. Many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.

I meant ‘the very promises which we break’ or another way of saying it ‘is what we fear we bring into being’ so its quite possible as we all know that Bette might cheat on Tina down the line and Tina may retaliate…not everyone’s perfect certainly not our girls but to me that’s what makes them both interesting and immensely loveable…pps
oh god it’s never ending….just when I thought things might improve for our girls; but I think, I hope T did the right thing to go see Joe. It’s very devastating for a man to be left whether she leaves for a woman or man (I know it’s just as devastating for women, look at B and T in the show); hopefully they may see some clear days when they can forge on with their lives 2gther…and of course what we promise at the beginning of a relationship is often the very problems we break so best not to make promises imo.
