“We’re here to pick up Lenny.”  Ashley smiled broadly.  Her eyes searched frantically through the rows of trees for that specific homely looking one.  When she finally spotted it and stood next to it, Kyla grimaced.

“Oh my God, please don’t tell me this is Lanny.”  “Lenny.”  Ashley corrected her.

“Lenny, whatever.  Let’s at least get a tree that looks half decent.”  Kyla shook her head as her sister shouldered the fragile tree and lugged it to the exit.

“Nope, we’re taking Lenny.  Let’s go!”  She paid the man and somehow managed to safely secure the tree to her car.  Quietly they drove home, Kyla occasionally looking back at the ugly tree that continuously lost its needles in the wind.

Upon arriving home, Ashley placed Lenny in his base and stood back wide eyed and giddy.  “Let’s go get some decorations now.”  She forced her sister back outside and into her vehicle.  The two drove out to the nearest mall and began hunting down an array of Christmas decorations; from ornaments to wreaths, candy canes to mistletoes.  Anything that would help brighten up their Christmas Spirit.

“You think you have to?  Or you will?”  Aiden pushed a little further wanting Kasey to take initiative.

“I…I don’t know Aid.  Look, I’m not sure what to make of this alright.  She slept with the guy.”  She threw her hands up in defeat.

“She was drunk and didn’t realize what she was doing.  It’s not an excuse but it has to be worth something.”  The boy tried to convince that Kyla in fact was clueless until the next morning.

Kasey sighed knowing he wouldn’t drop the subject.  “Fine. I’ll talk to her…later.”  She made her way up the stairs to the front door closely tailed by Aiden.

“Promise me one thing Kase.”  He remained serious before leaving.  “Promise me when you do talk to her you’ll let her explain everything before making any rash decisions.”

“I will, no worries eh.”  She replied watching him make his way to his car.

“Don’t forget the bonfire at Chris’ tonight!  You want a ride or?”  His door was open as he called out.

“If you don’t mind, then yea.”  She smiled and waved him off.
