    I became somebody through loving you

    Sunrise: an orange glow reflecting off of scattered clouds and casting itself across the windowpane of Spencer’s room. She sat facing the window, knees drawn up to her chest with her arms wrapped around her legs and waited for Helios and his chariot to draw the giant ball of fire up from earth and across the sky. It started off as a sliver of light, a faint hope on the horizon that dusk and twilight would give way to dawn until finally, in all of its glory, it rose up from the darkness and illuminated the earth.

    She watched it come up with an odd sense of calm. The silence, usually a white noise that threatened to engulf her completely had become a comfort. It made her feel free from responsibility and the history that still haunted her dreams like the lingering stench after a fire.

    This kind of silence was ok.

    It eased her nerves after her reoccurring nightmare. There wasn’t the paralyzing fear or the acute disorientation that usually came after. This time it simply and plainly disturbed her; a relief from what she usually went through after dreaming one of those dreams, especially without Ashley present to talk her down.

    To her it was a sign of her progress. She was getting used to her alone time once more.

    Yet today was a big day; it was her and Ashley’s one month anniversary. Her girlfriend practically demanded that she take the reigns for the special occasion and Spencer had reluctantly agreed though she was excited to see what her lover had in store for them.

    The thought of texting the brunette crossed her mind but she opted not to; it was way too early and she was probably sleeping soundly, wrapped amongst her sheets, ‘and dreaming of me’. She smiled.

    Tonight would be the night for her and Ashley to finally connect on that ultimate level. She would let herself give into what she had been waiting for so long. They would finally make love. Not that their earlier ‘encounter’ wasn’t anything short of intimate, sensual, and mind-blowingly amazing. It’s just that this time Spencer would let her inside: literally. It would be carnal and beautiful.

    The mere thought forced her legs together to ease the growing ache between them. ‘I could take care of this myself.’ She thought, allowing her legs to dangle over the edge and biting her lower lip in anticipation, nails scratching their way down her stomach towards the edge of her blue panties, ‘But I should wait.’

    5. If someone told me that I resided in the “space between their heartbeat”, I would literally melt into a puddle on the floor. If someone sang a song like that for me in public…I don’t even know what I would do. It was so sweet that Ashley did those things for Spencer. But Ashley is right, she can’t lead two separate lives. She has to come clean with Spencer. How else is the girl supposed to have absolute trust in her? Anyway, love this story, always have, and love even more that you’re updating again.
