By the time Ashley woke up she was in a regular room with Spencer by her side. The only other people in the room were Adrian and the so far unnamed baby girl.

“Spencer, I’m so sorry I fell asleep. How long was I out?”

“Don’t be. You had a rough morning. You weren‘t out for long. Maybe an hour.”

“You had a rough morning too.”

“The hard part is over now. Just look at how beautiful our babies are.”

Spencer gently pushed the baby bed holding the girl over to Ashley. She knew Ashley was dying to hold their daughter. Ashley wore the biggest smile she could possibly make as she scooped up her baby girl.

“Spencer, she is so perfect.”

“I know. They are both little angels.”

“What should we name her?”

“Do you have any ideas?”

“Yes, if you like it that is.”

“As a wise person once said lay it on me.”

Ashley looked back down at her daughter and kissed the sleeping baby on her forehead.

“I want her to be Alice Valencia Davies.”

“Ash, that’s a beautiful name.”

“I don’t know why I picked that name. It just feels right for her.”

“It’s perfect for her.”

Spencer was still in her wheelchair, but she managed to stand up against the doctors wishes. She eased her way into the bed with Ashley and rested her head on her wives shoulder. Ashley rested her head on top of Spencer’s and she looked down at the baby in her arms and then to the one in Spencer’s.

“Want to trade? I need some quality time with my son.”

“Of course. I have had them both for the past hour. All to myself.”

Spencer smiled a very proud grin as she traded babies with Ashley.

“So, no one else has had the chance to see them yet?”

“No, not yet.”

“They have got to be going insane. We need to call them in.”

“I guess you are right. I feel selfish now. I was so caught up in spending time with them that I just forgot to call the others.”

“It’s not selfish. You are a new mom. You just want your babies all to yourself.”

“I don’t mind sharing with you.”

Ashley smiled at Spencer as she reached for a phone to call her sister.
