Within Temptation – (Chapter: 15: Lets get drunk and disguise our wasted, miserable lives)
I parked outside of Spencer’s house and walked to the front door with Kyla. I rang the bell and none other than her mom answered.
Spencer’s mom: “Hey, Ashley. And who is this?“
Ashley: “This is my sister, Kyla.”
Spencer’s mom: “Hello Kyla. I’m Paula. Spencer’s mom. Spencer never told me you had a sister.”
Kyla: “Nice to meet you.”
Ok enough of this small talk
Ashley: “Is Spencer here?”
Paula: “Spencer asked to not be disturbed today. I’ll tell her you stopped by though. Goodbye girls.”
She shut the door on us and we walked back to my car.
Kyla: “Ashley, what’s going on with Spencer?”
Ashley: “I have no idea. I’m so confused.”
Spencer’s pov
The final bell for school rang. I knew if I didn’t rush out to moms car that I would have to run into Ashley. I knew I was going to have to see her some time or another, but right now I wasn’t in the mood. Though I have to admit I really did miss her. I got in the car safely and mom started to drive away. I looked back and saw Ashley getting into her car, but she wasn’t alone. She had that girl with her again. Great!
When we got home I told my mom I had a really important paper to write and I didn’t want any visitors or phone calls. I didn’t have a paper to write. I just couldn’t handle talking to Ashley until I was ready to and I knew she would either cal or stop by. Or both. No sooner than I made it to my room I heard the door bell ring. I opened my door and listened. It was Ashley. That’s all I needed to hear. I closed my door and put on my headphones.
Ashley’s pov
I decided to take Kyla to the beach. It always cleared my head and I’m sure she was dying to go ever since she got here. Most people were. I left my phone and everything in the car. I usually tried to keep my phone on me at all times. Just in case Spencer needed me, but since she wasn’t talking to me right now I didn’t feel the need to keep my phone with me.
I tried to have a good time at the beach with Kyla, but there was always something nagging at me. I couldn’t figure out why Spencer was being like this. We stayed at the beach until it was dark. We ended up having a great time. We talked a lot and I taught my baby sister how you REALLY build a sand castle. It’s nice to have someone around to take your mind off of the bad. Even if it’s not for long.
