To Spashley With Love – (Chapter: Chapter Seven)

“Yeah,” answered Ashley. You know like in a friend sort of way. I nodded and went change back to my regular clothes. I guess I was wrong. I knew it was too good to be true. Or was it?

A few minutes later, I still had my hair curled which was pulled back in a ponytail. I had my black glasses on and an old ACDC t-shirt with blue jeans. “Is this better?” I asked.

“Much,” answered Ashley with a smile.

“She’s lying,” Madison sneered. Ashley glared at Madison.

“Why don’t you just leave us alone?” Ashley asked.

“I wonder how Glen will take that his little sister hung out with the school lesbo,” began Madison.

    “You’re bluffing,” I said.

“I’m not,” replied Madison. Madison walked away.

    “Are you okay?” I asked.

“I’m the one who should be asking you that,” answered Ashley.

“I will be,” I stated. How about you?

“I am because you’re here,” responded Ashley. A smile formed on my lips.

After school, I was in the parking lot. “Do you need a ride?” Glen asked. The tone in Glen’s voice wasn’t right. Something about him was off.

“Actually I was going to get a ride from Ashley,” I answered.

“No, you won’t,” stated Glen coldly. I know your secret.

    “What secret?” I asked.

“Don’t play dumb, Spencer,” answered Glen. Madison told me.

    “Oh,” I said.

“Is that all you have to say, sis?” asked Glen. You haven’t even tried dating guys, Spencer!

“I don’t want to date a guy,” I answered. I want to date Ashley, Glen. Something in Glen had snapped and he slapped me hard across the face. I looked at Glen in disbelief. He had never hit me before. I was about to walk away, but he pulled my hair.

“You’re too young to know what you want,” snarled Glen. What is he talking about? I’m only younger than him by two years. He never had a real relationship with a girl before. You only cling to her because she actually pays attention to you and bothers to flirt with you.

    “You’re wrong,” I sighed.

“Shut up!” shouted Glen. Shut your damn mouth, Spencer Marie Carlin. You’re not a lesbian! You’re going through some phase.

“Yes, I am and it’s not just some phase,” I said on the verge of tears.
