Time Doesn’t Exist. Clocks Exist. – (Chapter: Ch. 15: Spencer, Meet Marty)

    Damnit! Why – sob – cant – heave – I – hic – stop – sob – crying?

Ashley, just as startled by Spencer’s outburst as the blonde was, wasn’t sure what to do either. After a few seconds of watching the girl break down, she figured she should do something, so she tentatively put her hand on Spencer’s back. This didn’t last for more than a second, however, as the blonde jerked her body away from the touch as soon as she felt it.

Spencer was never one for crying, or showing any sort of emotion for that matter. Cool, calm, and collected could be her life mantra and she rarely let any passionate emotions show. When she was given a promotion to the position of Key Financial Advisor for her branch, she gave her boss a firm smile, a handshake and a steady “I really appreciate your confidence in me.” She attributed her desensitized nature to her male-dominated line of work. Men didn’t take kindly to a woman coming in and showing them up, especially when it had to do with money, so Spencer made sure she did everything short of buzzing her hair off and stuffing her pants to guarantee that the other employees viewed her as their equal, and not as just another ditzy, high school educated page with a dream.

So, yeah. Spencer was never one for crying.

Needless to say, when all of these emotions began pouring out of Spencer, she didn’t quite to know what to do. It had been years since she had cried, and even longer since she’s had a breakdown like the one she was currently in the middle of. So, she did the only thing he brain was telling her to do. She ran.

    Yes, literally ran.

She stood up from her seat on the couch – their couch – as fast as she could, and she ran. She ran, sobbing, tears sliding down her face. She ran, feet pounding first against tile, then with a slight break in her rhythm to open the front door, pounding against gravel and then dirt. She ran, still fitted in her jeans, t-shirt and flip flops down the drive until she passed the mailbox. She ran, not knowing where she was going. She ran because she didn’t know what else to do. She ran because she didn’t know anything anymore.

    1. I think a little breakdown is due when you find out the person you are in love with has cancer and might be dying. However, I refuse to believe that Ashley is dying. She’s gonna be okay. Spencer will be there for her and she’ll be okay in the end. Please? Pretty please?? With cherries on top?
