The Three of Us – (Chapter: The Letter)

Kyla stopped there after realizing that she was crying and tears were streaming down her face onto the letter. She quickly dried them off and looked toward the end so she might be able to get a name to her stranger with such wonderful words. There was at the end, signed Jodie. So now she knew her stranger was named Jodie a woman who lost her love and was on a new journey.

She went and put everything back in the envelope and placed it in her purse to take home she wanted Ashley to read it.

Once at home, Spencer changed into her lounge clothes to get comfortable and relax as she had a rough day of classes. Kyla was and came out to greet her roommate, "Hey Spencer, how’s things going?" Kyla asked. "Oh, okay I guess, classes were long today. I have to start a project involving homeless people and I have to interview them about why this happened to them. I hope that you can assist me with this, because I have no idea on this subject." Spencer answered. "Well now that you mention that funny thing about it is I have a mysterious stranger who was in the shelter at lunch today and when I went over to talk to her, she got up and left in a real hurry". Kyla told her friend.

"So why do you think she is mysterious?" asked Spencer with hopes that this was going to be interesting.

"Well, I want you to read this letter and tell me what you think" Kyla remarked.

Spencer reached out for the letter and started reading. After a few minutes she sat up and tears were in her eyes. She couldn’t believe what she was reading was actually someone else’s life. All she could think of was how things went with her family when she and Ashley first came out. Then realized that she was fortunate because Ashley and she were still together and that her family, mainly her mom came around to accept their relationship." Spencer said letting one tear slide down her cheek.

"I told you it was something", said Kyla tearing up remembering about "Jodie" not really wanting to meet someone else.

Kyla took the letter and envelope and put it back in her purse. She then told Spencer that she was in the process of locating "Jodie" to give her the envelope back. So, after much planning they both decided they were going to look for her together.

Tuesday morning rolled around and started out as a great day. Spencer rose early and tried not to disturb Ashley since she came in so late from rehearsal with Madison. She didn’t get a chance to show her love "The Letter" and to let her know of her and Kyla’s plan. After getting dressed she wrote out a short letter to inform Ashley of their plans. She said that she would give her more detail tonight.

Kyla was up and ready to go about the same time Spencer was. They were acting like rockstar groupies, wanting to find "Jodie" and meet this woman with her heartfelt emotions that they could not keep from tearing up thinking of "The Letter".

Spencer got into Kyla’s car and they drove around the different shelters in the LA area. After several hours, they began to get hungry and wanted to stop for lunch. After going through many places, they decided on McDonald’s, which was close to Kyla’s shelter. They went in and brought out their order to look over the map and outline another plan of action. Kyla noticed in between the slides on the playground was someone dressed in camouflage, could this possibly be "Jodie", here, now, right here?
