The start of something new – (Chapter: Chapter one)

    Spencer:

    “BEEP…….BEEP….BEEP”

Spencer Carlin rolled over, groaned, and sat up to rub the sleep from her tired baby blue’s. Jumping out of her bed and throwing open the curtains she was met with the golden sunlight of a beautiful spring Ohio morning. She smiled happily, thinking to herself- today will be a great day- and began to prepare for school.

She went downstairs to discover her father made her favorite banana pancakes. She swooped down kissed his cheek grabbed a pancake stuffed it in her mouth and grabbed her bag.

“I’m leaving early today dad I’m going to walk to school. See you later, I get off work at five so I’ll see you around seven-I’m having diner with Marc. I love you and thanks for breakfast,.” Spencer said while walking out the door.

“Your welcome,” Arthur Carlin said to the door, his daughter already gone. She was so busy all the time these days he rarely ever saw her. He shrugged and helped himself to another banana pancake.

Flipping on her sunglasses and slinging her bag over her shoulder, Spencer began the mile and a half walk to school. Usually she’d drive, but today she felt the need to walk. Lifting her eyes to the sky, she stretched and ran her fingers through her blond hair with a slow easy sigh. It was days like these when she was so extremely glad to be alive. Everything felt right to her. Beautiful blue skies, bright sunlight, warm yet distinctively crisp spring mornings were her favorite. She smiled to herself. It was almost Spring break, which meant it was almost the end of her senior year. She had a full ride scholarship to NYU in the fall, She was a varsity cheerleader, volunteer for the community hospital, honor roll member, pretty popular, had an amazing group of friends and a gorgeous chiseled Greek god of a boyfriend who was sweet and charming. And that was just her school life.. Yep…things were going pretty perfect for Spencer Carlin.

She continued the walk to school with a smile.

    Ashley:

    “….If you feel so angry so pissed off……lets start a riot…..a riot…..”

3000 miles away in Los Angeles, Ashley Davies groaned as her cell phone blasted Three Days Grace into the silence of the morning. She was exhausted and nauseous not to mention sore and with the worst hangover of her life. Ashley vowed never ever to drink on a school day again. She wanted to curl into a ball and sleep for a week, the last thing she wanted was to talk on the phone.
