“You did?” Spencer asked.

            “Yeah,” he replied. “I was doing research and I saw you there, like around 2:00 am. You were tucked away in the corner oblivious to the world. I figured I wouldn’t disturb you because you were so intent on your work.”

            “Oh,” Spencer said. “Well that was nice of you.” She chuckled a little and turned to Angela. “See Ang, not sleeping with anyone.”

            “Dam,” she said disappointed. “Because you need to get laid girl.” We all laughed and Spencer and I were thankful we dodged yet another bullet.

            “Well, I have to get going; I told Kate I’d come by and watch a movie with her,” I said as I started to get off the couch.

            “Who’s Kate?” Angela asked.

            Before I could answer, Spencer chimed in for me. “Oh she’s Ashley’s lez friend that is totally in love with her.”

            “Ummm hardly,” I responded to Spencer trying to ease her obvious jealousy before turning to Angela. “She is my friend and she is a lesbian but she is definitely not in love with me; we’re just friends.”

            “No need to explain to me Ash,” she responded holding her hands up. “Everyone needs a fuck buddy to get them through the dry spells.”

            I laughed at her but quickly stopped when I saw Spencer’s head shoot up towards me. “No, seriously though, it’s not like that. We’re just friends I swear,” I quickly amended. “Okay, I’m heading out. I’ll see you guys later,” I said with a wave as I walked out the door. I felt a little guilty that Spencer was feeling so jealous, but we had talked about this before when we were alone. Kate and I were just friends and she had nothing to worry about. I usually stay at Kate’s pretty late though, so Spencer opted to sleep in her own bed tonight.

            I had a fun time at Kate’s. We watched “Imagine You and Me,” big surprise there. I walked into my room late that night, expecting to find an empty room and an empty bed. I slipped inside my dark room, removed my pants and slipped under the covers, only to be startled by the warm, soft skin already snuggled underneath. Startled, I jumped back a bit and she stirred in her sleep.
