“it was high school…”

“you remember when we talked on the phone the night you came back, and I told you about those choose your own adventure books?”

“yeah…”

“what if we had tried…you know, to choose another story?” she asked

“I don’t know…I mean I’m kinda glad we didn’t…” I said then she got a sad look on her face “…but I do sometimes think ‘what could have been’…” I added and she smiled

“well…can we stay friends this time? I don’t want you out of my life…”

“I don’t want to be out of your life Becca, I just cant be in it the way I was…”

“I know…” she said hugging me and we held it there and then I caught Spencer looking at us and I pulled away

“…ok I’m gonna go, but…we’ll talk later ok?”

“yeah, no, it’s your wedding, go” she said smiling at me

“thanks” I told her then I walked over by Spencer and she took my hand and dragged me out into the lobby

“we’re you ever gonna tell me you loved her.” She snapped at me

“Becca…oh come on Ashley, I know you and I saw the hug and the way you two look at each other…you have a past. You were in love with her…and that explains her hate for Aiden because of you and him in high school…”

“Spencer it’s not even…”

“…yes it is” she said then she walked off

“Spencer don’t be mad…”

“I’m not mad Ashley…I’m not mad…” she said walking back into the reception then I saw Jeremy outside and I went out by him

“there she is…uh oh…what’s wrong?” he said

“Spencer met Becca…”

“well…that sucks…”

“she figured out we were together at one point, and now she’s mad at me…”

“you could have just told her you know…” he said
