Spencer’s POV

I’m woken up by the sound of rain pounding on the roof, which is quite loud considering my room is in the attic. I know you’re thinking ‘ew, you sleep in the attic, with, like, all those spiders and stuff’. Okay, maybe you’re not thinking that but that what the STD-infused cheerleaders from California would say, and I guess I’m just used to it.

So when I finally decide to roll out of bed I check my clock. 8:12 am. Well I guess I’m not going to be going back to sleep anytime soon, so I might as well get up. I go downstairs and I notice the grandma’s not up yet. So I just made myself some breakfast and wrote grandma a little note that I’d be outside and not to get worried, you know how grandparents are.

When I head outside, it’s pouring, but I don’t really care, my hair is just going to frizz when it dries, but oh well. I look around for a while and notice Lucy on the bridge the crosses over the pond that seperates our rows of houses. I walk over there and greet her.

"Hey hey!" I say and she turns around and notices.

"Spencer!" She says with that cute accent, while greeting me with a brief hug.

"What are you doing on this beautiful sunny day?" I say sarcastically while motioning towards the rain, she laughs.

"Yeah, it’s always raining here, I love it though, I love the rain." She says looking up to the sky. "I was with my sister and-" I cut her off

"You have a sister?" I asked, because I never actually told her that I met Ashley before i met her.

"Yeah, do you want to meet her?" I nodded my head. "She’s around here somewhere, she was by the pond with her girlfriend." She mumbled while looking around. Girlfriend? I didn’t know she had a girlfriend, but for some reason that makes me a little upset.

"Ah! Found her." Ashley and ‘girlfriend’ were sitting on the dock by the pond and I noticed that her ‘girlfriend’s’ head was on Ashley’s shoulder and every now and then Ashley would say something that made both of them laugh.

"C’mon." Lucy said as we started walking towards Ashley and her girlfriend. on the way there, my hand and Lucy’s would brush each other and I would get slight goosebumps every time they did. A few of the times she looked over and smiled at me and I felt myself blush.

"hey, Ash." Lucy called.

"What do you want?" Ashley said without looking behind her.

"I want you to meet someone." Lucy responded. Ashley looked back at us, she smirked at me with with a knowing smile. Ashley, Kate, this is Spencer. Spencer this is my sister Ashley and her girlfriend, Kate." Ashley stood up and shook my hand.

"It’s so nice to finally meet you." She said to me while trying not to laugh.

"You too." I said. Kate waved and said hi while I did the same to her.

"So this is Lucy’s new girlfriend." Ashley said.

"No, we’ve only been on one date, Ashley, she’s not my girlfriend…yet" She said quietly so only I could her and I smiled at her.

"Oh, well you guys would make a cute couple." Kate chimed in. "We should double sometime, Ashley and I, and you and Spencer."

"That sounds fun." I said. " I’m up for it." I said, kind of excited that I’d be going out with Lucy again, but at the same time, excited that I’d get to know Ashley better.

"Okay" Lucy agreed. "How about tomorrow night?" She suggested and we all agreed and made the plans for our date.
