Tell Me Where it Hurts – (Chapter: Ch. 4 The Date)

    Spencer’s POV

Lucy’s coming to pick me up in about an hour. I’m just finishing getting dressed and for some reason, I’m really excited, Lucy seems nice, and I really have a feeling this is going to work out. I go downstairs and grandma’s sitting on the couch with her feet up, watching her old tapes of Jerry Springer and Maury that she taped before she moved to Liverpool.

"Yeah! That’s right byotch! hit him again! Hit him again! It’s okay, he’s not your baby’s daddy!" She yells taking a drink of her beer. My grandma is not like other grandmas as you can tell. That’s why she’s my favorite.

"Wow, grandma, I can see moving hasn’t changed you." I say sitting across from her.

"Oh! Spency! You look gorgeous, Lucy is definately going to like you." She says look at my clothes. I look like I do everyday.

    Ashley’s POV

What is she doing in there?! My sister has been in the bathroom for the past hour, and I have to pee. I knock on the door.

"What do you want?" She asked in her ‘I’m better than you voice’. She’s a brat most of the time, but she’s still my sister, and she does have her moments where I think she’s a totally different person, where she actually has a polite conversation with me, and that’s not often.

"Uh, I have to go to the bloody bathroom! I have for the past hour! What are you taking so long for anyway?" I asked and she opened the door.

"How do I look?" In reality, Lucy was gorgeous. She had my mom’s brown eyes and long, dark hair. We were the same height, but she always insisted she was an inch taller than me. Whatever.

"You like fine, but what for?" I asked her pushing past her.

"I, if you must know, have a date." She said putting on her lipgloss.

"With who? Stephanie, Jenny, Rachael, Sara-" I started to name all the girls who she’s gone out with in the past.

"No! None of them. It’s that Spencer, you know, Joan’s granddaughter." And at that moment, my stomach sank to the floor.

    Spencer’s POV

the door bell rang and grandma ran to answer it, I see her talk to someone, give them a hug, and step aside so they can come in. the girl walked in the door and I stood up. She must have been Lucy. She was stunning. Grandma brought her over to me.

"Lucy this is Spencer, Spencer this is Lucy."

"It’s lovely to finally meet you." She said shaking my hand.

    "You too." I said.

Grandma escorted us to the door and we walked out to Lucy’s car. She opened the door for me and closed it when I got in.

We drove for a few minutes in silence until she broke it.

"So, how long have you been in Liverpool?" She asked.

"About a week." I answered. She nodded and kept the questions coming.

    "You like it so far?"

"Well I haven’t really seen much, I don’t know very many people here, so I don’t really know if I like it or not yet."

"I’ve always wanted to go to America. You, know, where all the action is. There’s really not much on this side of the ocean." She said and I smiled at her.

"I came right from the middle of the action, I used to live in L.A." I told her and she looked surprised.

"No way! You’re from California?" She asked and I nodded.

"Cool." She said as we pulled up to the restaurant. She got out and opened the door for me and we walked in. When we got to our table, she pulled out the chair for me. Dinner went well. Ther was a lot of conversation and laughing. I think I’m really starting to like her.

She drove me home and walked me to the front door.

"So, this was fun." She said.

"Yeah, it was, we should do this again sometime." I said and she smiled at me. She leaned in and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

"Yeah, I call you." She said. She walked to her car and waved one last time before getting in and driving off.
