Stormy Horizons – (Chapter: 2- Ironic)

Ohio_qte: well, it’s getting late I need to go. Wait, I never caught your name this whole time.

Rocker3434: Yea, I’m getting tire too. And BTW, its Ashley. Ashley Davies.

    Rocker3434 has signed out

All I did was stand there staring at the computer screen. That was Ashley Davies! I thought She really does exist! Not only is she as real as ever, we’ll be going to the same high school! Could today be any better. Now I was as anxious as ever to go to the new city. And with that final though, I peacefully drifted to sleep.

Aiden’s POV, 3 days later, Carlin’s last night in Ohio

I had been driving almost non-stop since I had stayed at that motel in Kansas. The great plains had no real amazing thing about them, only adding to how tired I felt. At last I had found something I had been looking for. The sign reading: You are now entering Ohio. This was it, I was finally here. This was going to be the hard part though. I needed to find Washburn. I pulled out a map and looked at every city I could find. I started looking at the larger cities and worked my way to the smaller ones. Eventually I found a city called Washburn. Damn it was small! Only 250 people lived there, no wonder it took me almost 3 hours to find on the map. Ashley was right, I’ll be damned. Let’s go find this Spencer Carlin. I got back in my car and headed out to find this girl once more. Now this was starting to get interesting! After a couple hours drive I finally reached Washburn as the sun started setting, casting a brilliant orangish glow over the horizon.

I pulled over to the side of the road near a pay phone and grabbed the white pages. I flipped through the C’s and eventually reached Carlin. I found the Carlin residence about 3/4ths down the page. It looked like it was a family of five. There was Aurther, Clay, Glen, Paula.. And there! Spencer Carlin! Phone number (847)555-6310. I dialed the number and after 3 rings, somebody picked up. “Hello?” An older sounding feminine voice asked.

“Hi, is this the Carlin residence?” I asked hoping I had the right number.

“Yes this is how may I help you?”

“May I speak to Spencer please?”

“How does she concern you?” the voice, probably Paula, asked sounding more than a bit leery.

“It’s urgent, may I please speak to her?” Now I was getting angry.

“Alright, can you hold a moment?” I waited for about 30 seconds when a younger voice answered.

    “Hello?” this young voice asked.

“You are Spencer Carlin, with blond hair, and blue eyes?” I could’ve slapped myself for saying this. It sounded extremely creepy, like a stalker.

“OK, I don’t know who you are, but yes I am. Now who are you?” Just as I heard her answer this question, a car slammed straight into the phone booth, throwing me out of the glass box.
