Chapter 1: Pilot

Okay, lemme just start off by saying that I’ve never had this much weird shit go on in my entire life, than I have in the past few weeks. What sucks is: I think the weirdness is only beginning. Maybe I should explain a little…

I moved to South Bend with my dad, Raife, so that my mom, Christine, could follow her dreams. My dad is the town sherriff, and the best one they’ve had in a while. My dad and I have never been real close, but when the situation presented itself for me to live with him for awhile, he was more than happy to take me in. He even enrolled me into school before I even arrived. I figure this is a good of time as any to get to know dear-ol’-dad. I just hope I can stand South Bend for a longer period of time than my mother could.

“My name is Ashley Davies. I just moved here from Pheonix, Arizona.” I told the secretary in the office at South Bend High School. She looked like she wanted to be there less than I did. She seemed motherly but also still looked pretty young, but very sour-faced.
“Hi, Ashley. Welcome to South Bend! Here is your schedule, map, and I’ll introduce you to to your guide for the day.” Mrs. No-name explained, actually really chipper, handing over two sheets of paper and montioned my attention towards the door. I looked and saw a sandy-haired boy with big, blue eyes. He was cute and was totally checking me out, but he was definitely not my type. I like the bad boys, I guess. That’s probably how I got myself into this mess in the first place.
