Sounds of music – (Chapter: Stop and Stare)
This town is colder now, I think it’s sick of us
It’s time to make our move, I’m shaking off the rust
I’ve got my heart set on anywhere but here
I’m staring down myself, counting up the years
Steady hands, just take the wheel…
And every glance is killing me
Time to make one last appeal… for the life I lead
It seems like everyone is against us.
Walking out of my house just letting my feet take me where they want to go.
I think about our situation and I don’t know if we will make it.
At least in this tiny little town.
I moved here for you but I can see how much you hate it.
I think we would be better leaving but it’s up to you.
I’d follow you anywhere.
Stop and stare
I think I’m moving but I go nowhere
Yeah I know that everyone gets scared
But I’ve become what I can’t be, oh
Stop and stare
You start to wonder why you’re here not there
And you’d give anything to get what’s fair
But fair ain’t what you really need
Oh, can you see what I see
The air is cold on my face my jacket zipped up tight as winter gets closer.
Its dark out and I don’t see anyone else on the street.
It’s quiet but then it’s great for thinking so it doesn’t bother me.
They’re trying to come back, all my senses push
Untie the weight bags, I never thought I could…
Steady feet, don’t fail me now
Gonna run till you can’t walk
Something pulls my focus out
And I’m standing down…
I see your house in the distance and I know it was just instinct for my feet to bring me here.
Seems so far away but I know your not.
I don’t know what I’m going to say once I get to your house but I know what I want to say.
I want to say come with me, let me take you away from all the pain here.
I’m walking up the path to your house and I hear lots of yelling.
I consider my options on if I should just leave or try and find out what’s going on.
Stop and stare
I think I’m moving but I go nowhere
Yeah I know that everyone gets scared
But I’ve become what I can’t be, oh
Stop and stare
You start to wonder why you’re here not there
And you’d give anything to get what’s fair
But fair ain’t what you really need
Oh, you don’t need
I make up my mind and continue up the path, hesitating before ringing the doorbell.
In no time at all you’re opening the door I can see the tears in your eyes still and you look like you’re going to break at any moment.
Your looking at me so intensely like you can see deep into my soul.
And you see what I was thinking and you know what I want to say, all you do is nod your head.
I’m not sure if you’re just angry at the moment or you really mean it but then your one step ahead of me and know what I’m thinking because you stand to the side and I see your bags already packed.
What you need, what you need…
Stepping on the plane I see you look back over your shoulder, nodding your head before getting on with a small smile.
Holding hands the entire ride to our new lives……
Stop and stare
I think I’m moving but I go nowhere
Yeah I know that everyone gets scared
But I’ve become what I can’t be
Oh, do you see what I see…
END.

Great update!
don’t lie you extremely dislike them. lol if you didn’t hate them you wouldn’t say my taste in music sucks :p lol.anyways you know i like the post :)
Sorry, typo. I meant to say it is sung by Hodges.
I love your story. I especially love how you weave the song in. I would like to see you write a story using the song, “My Side of The Story.” It is sung my Hodges. You can find it on youtube. It is a great song, and I think you should be able to use it with Spashley. PMS
love it! I’d like to suggest a song “Just say yes” by Snow patrol. Well, in your last post Ash and Spence got married and about to have a baby. So I’d like to see the things before the wedding. Like who proposed? something like that :)
