Some Unholy War – (Chapter: Chapter 5)

    “What? It’s me baby. Spencer.”

“What the hell is this? I gotta the fuck out of here.” Ashley said staring to move from the bed.

“Stop Ash you’re going to hurt yourself.” Spencer cried tears streaming down her face. “Please babe just calm down.”

Nurses must have heard the noise because suddenly a swarm of hospital staff rushed through the doors, and somehow in there wake pushing a distraught Spencer from the room.

Spencer slid against the wall of the waiting room taking a seat on the floor. She honestly didn’t know what was going on. She felt her world spinning. Her thoughts were plagued with anguish, and a gentle hand on her shoulder was the only thing that knocked her from her daze.

“Spence, what are you doing out here on the floor?” Aiden asked taking a seat next to Spencer.

Spencer looked at Aiden’s confused face and whimpered slightly “Aiden she doesn’t remember me.”

“What?” Aiden said not believing his ears. “No way Spencer.”

“She just woke up just now.” Spencer said regaining her control. “I can’t believe this.”

“My god me either.” Aiden said placing his arm around Spencer. She cried softly into his shoulder, for what seemed like a short eternity.

“Ms. Carlin.” Doctor Russell said entering the waiting room.

Spencer simply stared at him waiting for him to speak.

“It appears that the injuries your fiancé suffered in the accident have caused a case of amnesia. Now, these symptoms can last from anywhere to one day until one year and of course there’s a chance that Ashley may never gain her complete memory back.”

    “So she doesn’t remember anything.”

“It’s a pretty severe case. She doesn’t really know anything about her personal past, but it seems she remembers normal functionality.”

“How is that possible?” Aiden questioned.

“The brain is a very difficult thing to understand, took me years.”

“Can I see her?” Spencer asked softly.

“Yes, but she’s very,” Dr. Russell paused.  “Agitated, she is even requesting to be discharged.”

Spencer simply nodded before making way back into the hospital room. Aiden stayed to discuss more with Dr. Russell. As Spencer entered the room a nurse passed shooting her a sympathetic look.

“She’s a mean one, won’t even let us touch her.”
