    Chapter 7

    Ashley’s POV

    So it has been a week since the move-in, and today is the first day of classes. As a counselor, its our job to attend one class of each of our students at least 3 times a week just to see if they’re keeping up with the work and listening to the teacher. And since everybody has 7 periods, like a normal high school, I’m gonna attend one class of each of my kids. So this is what my schedule looks like today so far:

    1st period: Kyla’s English class…boring…

    2nd period: Clay’s Algebra class…boring…

    3rd period: Sean’s film class…interesting I guess…

    4th period: Aiden’s P.E. class….so not interesting…

    5th period: Chelsea’s biology class…waaaaay boring…

    LUNCH: FINALLY!

    6th period: Madison’s music class…interesting…probably because my best friend teaches it.

    7th period: Spencer’s Art class….VERY interesting…

    Spencer’s class is probably the only one I’m looking forward to because with the sketch book she always carries around with her, I’m curious to see some of her work. Okay so on with the day!

    So its finally lunch time and to say I am relieved would be an understatement. I feel sorry for all of them, those classes are so boring! But, that’s high school right? Anyways, my group has to meet up with me right now so we can go over some things about classes and such, or whatever they want to talk about.

    As I reach our table I notice only Spencer is there so far,, sketch book open and drawing. As I get closer to her I can’t help but realize once again how beautiful she is. Every time I look at her I get this weird feeling in my stomach. Is that a good thing?

    “Hey Spence” I say softly as I reach the table.

    “Oh hey Ash, how are you?” she asked, looking up at me before going back to her drawing. I raised an eyebrow at that question and smirked.

    “You know, I’m supposed to be the one to ask you that question right?” I asked.

    “Doesn’t mean I can’t ask you” she replied, looking up at me before smiling.

    “What are you drawing?” I asked, tilting my head towards her paper.

    “Oh nothing, just sketching really” she replied as I took a step closer to see her paper.
