Reluctance – (Chapter: When You Lips Aren’t Against Mine and A Mystery Is Revealed)

"I think it would be best if I just sat over there."

She starts to walk away and suddenly I feel completely alone, a miserable alone too. I grab her hand and my tears finally fall, no hesitation either. They spill fast, and I’m almost positive that my face is soaked as my body shakes with sobs. "Please don’t, I can’t be alone right now." I plead with her.

She falls down onto the chair and wraps me up in her arms. I burry my head into the crook of her neck and just cry, images flashing before my eyes again. The visions of her slowly dying, her blood seeping out of her arm. It was everywhere you know? Still on me too. I forgot about it till now, I just surpressed everything and let anger control my actions. Now I know why Ashley was how she was, cold and distant, it’s easier than being weak, but right now my tears are cleansing me of her blood.

"Shh, I know sweetie." I can hear her vopice say, but I know it’s really my cous- no, my sisters. It is her here with me now, and soon it will be my family.

In the Hospital Room – Ashley’s condition.

"I don’t think we can, not yet at least." Spencers mother says to Ben.

"The bleeding has yet to stop?"

"It stops then starts and I can’t find out why!" Paula’s frustrated voice echos through the room.

Nurses and doctors surround what seems to be a lifeless Ashley. Her chest barely moves up and down, even with the oxygen mask around her face. Paula is holding her cut up arm attempting to stop the bleeding.

"She cut right through her muscle, she’ll need some surgey on it to repair it. There’s not much we can do till then." Paula says, again frustration dripping in her voice.

"She missed her veins?" Ben asks.

"Barely, she was lucky, or stupid, I go with stupid right now."

"Why do you say that? I think it was pure luck she didn’t get her veins."

"Because, Spencer is an amazing girl, and she loves Ashley to death. So why would Ashley want to take that away? If what Spencer told me about Ashley never really being loved is true, why try to take your life when you finally have a love that’s in no way going to hurt you?"
