Reflections In The Rearview – (Chapter: Chapter 4 Part A)
“Alright” Mr. Fulton interrupted the uproarious laughter that was consuming the room. Please open your books to Le Morte Darthur by Sir Thomas Malory.
The students all groaned and picked up their books.
Spencer stared over at the brunette to her right. She was tired of teasing the older girl, sure they hadn’t been together all that long but their relationship had been a constant series of flirting throughout. The sexual tension was there, the chemistry was there, the trust was there … and truth be told Spencer was ready. Sure she knew she had never slept with anyone before but she figured Ashley would be able to help her figure it out. She wondered if the older was nervous at all. Did she think about them being together just like the blonde did?
Mr Fulton looked back at the brunette who had raised her hand. Spencer was smiling lovingly over at the girl.
“So … knights are like the protectors of the peace?”
“Yes, knights focused on fighting for their kingdom and fighting for women. Protecting the peace of the land was very important.”
“So they’re like cops?”
“Actually yes Ashley, except with shinier weapons. In the Middle Ages there were competing ideas of masculinity. Having a sword was very important .. and actually very Freudian now that I think of it.” The professor let out a chuckle.
“So” Ashley said, whispering to the blonde next to her. “You like all that romantic chivalrous stuff right?”
Spencer looked at her not really sure where the brunette was going with this. Ashley sighed noticing that Mr. Fulton had caught her talking to Spencer. She ripped a piece of paper out of her notebook and scribbled something on it, handing it to the younger girl.
“I was thinking Friday it could just be you and me. Sorta like a date?”read the note.
Spencer smiled and pulled out a pen, writing a note back to her girlfriend.
“I’d love that. But what about people finding out?” Upon reading this the brunette let out a sigh.
"No one will know anything, they’ll jsut think it’s two friends hanging out for the evening. As much as I enjoy our quality car time I think it’s time I treated you to a real outting." Ashley wrote back.
