Not The Type – (Chapter: A Love Like Ours)
Stop.”
“No.”
“Ashley.”
“Spencer.”
“Stop.”
“I can’t.”
“Try.”
“Why?”
“It’s Distracting.”
“You’re distracting.” Ashley says finally focusing on something other than me. For at least ten minute she stared a hole in to the side of my face. “You’re in a better mood today.” Ashley notes.
“Yeah?” I try to focus back on the homework that her staring distracted me from.
“Yeah.” Ashley gets off my bed and kneels beside me. I’m sitting at my desk. “I love you.” She says running her hands up and down my left leg.
“Ash…” I really want to get done with this paper.
“What?” Her hands grab at my waist and she spends my chair around, so that I’m facing her. “You don’t love me?” She pouts.
“You know I’m in love with you.” I lean down and kiss her nose. “But I really need to finish this paper.”
“You’re gorgeous.”
“Thanks, but did you hear what I said.”
“You need to finish your paper.” She says kissing my nose this time.
“So…”
“You’re still gorgeous.” This time she doesn’t make an advance. Instead she gets up and sits back on my bed.
“Thanks.” I blush and take her moving as a cue to finish my work.
Twenty minutes later we’re lying on my bed, fully cloth, in each other arms.
“You’re an amazing girlfriend.” I tell Ashley as I run my hands through her hair.
“Did you think I wouldn’t be?” She doesn’t say it in a defensive way. It’s more of a carious tone.
“I don’t know…” I start as she repositions us, so that she’s laying on me. “I’ve never thought about it.” I tell her honestly.
“So…” She whispers
“What?”
“Are you going to tell me what was going on with you yesterday?” I sigh and look away from her.
“I got a C on my history paper?” I mumble out.
“What?” Ashley giggles a little after catching some of what I said. She never understands why I get so mad when I get a bad grade. Maybe it’s because she doesn’t share the same passion about her academic career as I do. It doesn’t matter the reason, it still pisses me off when she jokes about it.
“I got a C on a paper.” I say louder and push her off of me when she starts to flat out laugh.
