They walk inside and all eyes are upon them. Paula wasnt supposed to be home, but she was.
They walk into the livingroom and sit down and paula is still looking at them with this glare. "so you cut class today." 3 minutes in the door and paula already began complaining. "Did ashley make you cut class?"

"paula!" arthur snapped at paula. He couldnt believe how rude she was still being. After spencer had alread ‘come out’ to them and she still couldnt except that they were together.

Spencer sat in silence. She couldnt say she went to the beach to chill with ashley. Then she would sound like they were going for fun. She couldnt say ashley was pregnant. It would only make matters worse.

Spencer slowly and mentally checked off everything she couldnt tell her parents in her head. She needed an excuse and fast. There wasnt one really. I mean there was, but not a good one.

"Im waiting!" paula snapped at spencer wanting her explination.

Ashley jumps in with a slight giggle. "im so sorry ms. C. Its embarrassing really. You see, the nurse was out of fem. Care products and i really needed one, so i was on my way to my car so i could run home real fast and spencer jumped in." Spencer was shocked at how fast and good ashley was at lying. It was amazing really. "And so before i could tell her to go to class, she was already late for last class and we decided just to miss it."

Glen was laughing and clay punched him in the arm. Paula sat there with a seriouse look on her face that said ‘i hate you’ across her forehead. Arthur sat there nodding his head saying he believed her and that it made sense.

"so you decide to skip the rest of the day to make a five minute trip and take spencer along with you?" Paula hated ashley and everytime she spoke to or about her, it showed.

Paula was quickly stopped from her verbal face punch by arthur. "Paula, i think you should cut ashley some slack. It so happens she isnt such a bad kid if you would take the time to get to know her." Arthur finally gritted his teeth as a thought floated through his mind and out of his mouth. "Instead of getting to know ben!"

Paula sprung up like an arrow just went through her leg. "kids, go upstairs." paula spoke while forgetting about the fact ashley was still there. Glen and clay looked at eachother and ran up to their room. They of course sharred a room so they went in closing the door behind them. And spencer snuck ashley upstairs to her room.

Spencer enjoyed having her own room. One of the many good-points to being the only teenaged girl in the house. Spencer fell flat on her bed as she heard her parents yelling downstairs. "fighting." spencer stated towards ashley who was sitting in her computer chair. "all they ever do is fight. Why cant they just talk like normal civilized people?"

Ashley got up and walked over to spencer and layed down next to her. Spencer cuddled up into ashleys arm laying her head on her chest. She could feel it vibrate everytime ashley spoke. "at least they’re here." Ashley said.

Spencer got more comfortable in ashleys arms. She looked up into ashleys eyes. "promise me something."

"anything."
"promise me we wont be like that." sppencer said in a low-tone. "promise me that we wont ever fight like that all the time and force our baby to listen to it."

Spencer asked her wanting hope for her new found family. Ashley kissed the top of spencers head. "i promise." ashley said. And then her and spencer fell asleep hoping to not have a paula encounter in the morning.
