Next Time Around: 2 – (Chapter: I dont know how much more i can take)

Inside he knew what he was doing was wrong. Not only was he taking his anger out on the one he cared about, but he was using his family issues as an excuse. It was all so wrong, but he was doing it anyways.

In a graveyard forty minutes away, Spencer sat on her knees before her mother and her mother’s grave marker. “How often do you come here exactly?” A familiar voice came from behind her. She turned to see who it was, but they were standing right in the sun and you could only see his silhouette. She stood up, though, knowing the voice very well and hugged the man she saw.

“Glen!” She shouted. She pulled out from the hug. “What are you doing back from New York?”

“Well, I have some time off from school at NYU and I figured, why not pay my family a visit. And she may be gone, but she is still family.” He said.

“So how are things at school?”

“The usual, you know, everyday is another step towards being a doctor.”

“Ten years ago, I would have never pictured you becoming a doctor.” Spencer said with a slight laugh.

“Yeah well, someone has to do it or else some pretty sick people will be walking around the streets infecting other people and then causing an epidemic…plus the doctor suit helps with the chicks.” There was the Glen she knew so well- cocky and after all the girls using whatever he had as his advantage. “So how are things with Ashley and the kids?”

    “Um, pretty good.” She lied.

“Sorry I couldn’t make it down for their birthday.”

“No, it’s alright. They got the present you sent though and they loved it. Thanks.”

“It’s no problem. So I didn’t see your car in the parking lot, did Ashley drop you off?” He asked.

    “Uh, no, no I walked.”

“She doesn’t know you’re here does she?”

“No, and I would like to keep it that way.”

“Well hey; it isn’t my job to go spilling secrets.” He said placing a hand on her shoulder. “So do you need a lift someplace?”

“Sure, I need to pick up something at the store real quick. You have time to take me there and then home?”

“I have all the time in the world for my baby sister.”
