    makedamnsure – (Chapter: Two: Paralyzer )

    “It’s the first day of school today, Cippola. Are you excited?” Spencer asked her sleeping Welsh Corgi puppy. The dog whined, before burrowing deeper into Spencer’s discarded blankets. “Of course you’re not, you don’t even go to school. Lucky bitch. See you later, Chip!” Spencer laughed, before blowing the dog a kiss.

    Spencer thundered down the stairs and into the kitchen, grabbing a banana from the counter. Paula cocked an eyebrow at her. “Is that all you’re having for breakfast?” she asked, gesturing at a ready-made bagel sandwich of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Spencer grinned widely. Her favorite.

    “Thanks Ma. I’ve got to pick Sara up. Her car won’t start and you know how she is with first days,” Spencer said as she tried to wolf her breakfast down as fast as possible while savoring its delicious flavors.

    “Okay, but drive safe,” Paula reminded her daughter.

    Spencer groaned and rolled her eyes.

    ==========

    Spencer pulled her car up the Bellamy’s driveway, spotting Sara waiting impatiently on the porch. “Get in loser, we’re going shopping!” she shouted, laughing. It was a game they played, repeating and paraphrasing lines from the movie Mean Girls as often as they could. No one else understood their obsession with the movie, but both girls agreed that Tina Fey was a comedy genius and that Mean Girls quotes are applicable in any situation at any time. It wasn’t long before it became a running inside joke, one that got them baffled looks from everyone in their vicinity as they cackled loudly.

    Sara laughed as she got into the car. Not surprisingly, she was wearing her cheerleader’s uniform. Spencer cocked an eyebrow at her. “Hey, I’ve gotta remind the boys what they’ve missed out over the summer,” Sara defended herself immediately.

    “Mmhmm sure. And by boys, do you mean boys in general, or that one boy who’s been on vacation in Europe over the summer?” Spencer smirked.

    “Shut up, Spence. My man was out being all worldly while we slaved at an Italian restaurant. Summer is over. I need to get back into the groove of things.”

    Spencer laughed as she scrolled through her iPod’s playlist before settling on her Rock Out with Your Cock Out playlist. The opening notes of Rage against the Machine’s Bulls on Parade started playing and she cranked up the volume of her stereo. “And this is how I get back into the groove of things,” Spencer shouted over the guitar riffs. Sara rolled her eyes, too used to Spencer’s taste in music to even kick up a fuss anymore.
