    Loving Annabelle, Alternate Ending Fan Fiction Contest

    Simone was now struggling with her emotions as she found it amazingly hard to break their embrace this time. Annabelle was winning, the softness of her skin rubbing against hers made her bound to win. And surprisingly enough, it was her who broke the embrace.

    "I just realized…" She started "that I don’t want to be found here either… I’ve been waiting too long for this to have someone take it away from me."

    Simone was merely listening, her desire readable in her eyes, panting hard as she felt the burning need to kiss Annabelle again. Finally coming back to her senses as she saw Annabelle’s grave look, she nodded.

    "You’re right you better go now." said Simone. "But what about your roommates?"

    Getting up, she took a bathrobe and put it on before realising that Annabelle, still in bed, was eyeing her intensely. As she closed the bathrobe, Annabelle finally looked up at her;

    "I’ll just tell them I got lucky with one of the girls".

    Struck by the answer, it took Simone a couple of second to cope with her emotions. She felt jealousy coming up. Putting her feelings aside, she tried to respond with a casual voice.

    "Won’t they be surprised?"

    Smiling softly, Annabelle enjoyed the feeling of having Simone jealous.

    "You mean, has it happened before so they could believe me?"

    Simone felt her cheeks burning as she turned red. Obviously, her voice hadn’t been that casual.

    Watching Annabelle slowly getting out of bed and walk towards her, her desire increased again. Stopping right in front of her, taking Simone in her naked arms Annabelle added;

    "It never happened, but I’ll make them believe it did. They think of me as some kind of rebel anyway, I don’t think they’ll be that shocked."

    Satisfied enough with the answer, she tenderly kissed Annabelle before whispering "You should go now… And maybe you should get dressed too."

    "There’s one more thing…" said Annabelle now dressed and obviously scared… "Can I… I mean can we… Will I see you later?"

    Amused by her lover’s lack of confidence and wanting to make her pay for her moment of jealousy, she casually said "Yes, in church, then in class".

    Seeing Annabelle’s face falling apart, she took it in her hands and smiled "Then later when you’ll sneak in my room before dinner".

    Annabelle gave Simone a last kiss and walked towards the door. Before opening it, she turned to Simone;

    "Simone, I…" finding it too hard to speak up, she flatly added "never mind.”

    ———
    Once outside Simone’s room, Annabelle pressed her forehead on the door, unable to understand why the four letter word got stuck in her throat. Unnerved by her own incomprehension, she slowly walked away from the door to her room. She didn’t bother undressing, fell on her bed and stared at the ceiling, remembering every moment of the past night.

    Eventually, she fell asleep, the last thing on her mind being Simone.

    ——

    As she closed the door behind Annabelle, Simone felt weak. She froze when Annabelle began her sentence only to come back to earth left with "never mind".

    She had wanted for a split second to grab her arm, push her against the wall and whisper she loved her before kissing her… But was totally unable to do so.

    Then something put an abrupt stop to Simone’s thoughts… What if Annabelle had just wanted to tell her something completely different like "I… like pizza"?

    She suddenly felt stupid and her dream came back to her mind. What if Annabelle was just having a good time with her while in school so she wouldn’t be so bored? What if she never cared? <No.>

    There she was, stuck with voices in her head. Torn between ideal thoughts of Annabelle loving her back and reminiscences of her dream.

    She mechanically found her way to the bathroom where she stood in front of the little mirror before looking up realizing her face reflected her mind. Trying to escape her thoughts she jumped in the bathtub letting the hot water warm her up as every minute passing by since Annabelle had left, increased her loneliness.
