Loving Annabelle
With this Annabelle stopped fighting and hugged Simone as tight as she could trying to drown her self in Simone’s love. To this Simone repeated over and over again “I will love you until your tears run dry.”
For an eternity they just held each other, eventually Annabelle’s breathing slowed, her shaking stopped, as she looked up into Simone’s eyes. They were filled with a sadness that broke Simone’s heart. Their where no words that could heal her soul, so she looked deep into her eyes and kissed her on the lips and then the forehead.
“Sorry, I.. sorry”
Taking the hand of her lover she led her up to her bedroom, sitting down on the sofa she pulled Annabelle down next to her, wrapping her arms around her she began stroking her hair running her fingers through the golden highlights. Sighing Annabelle lifted her chin, kissed Simone and then rested her head on Simone’s chest listening to the thumping of her heartbeat. Eventually Simone kissing Annabelle, said “tell me what happened, please, I’m worried about you” pushing herself up to look into those light blue oceans Annabelle kissed Simone stood up headed towards the bathroom and asked if Simone wanted a bath.
“Il is in, in a minute, I’ve got a call to make.”
Annabelle ran the bath and got undressed watching Simone dial the number,
“Michael”
What how could Simone tell her how much she loved her that Michael meant nothing to her and then phone him, shutting the door Annabelle climbed into the bath slipping under the water, she just lay there with her eyes closed. Letting all the hurt and pain of the day consume her.
“I’m sorry Michael it’s over, we can’t see each other again.”
Annabelle’s heart started thumping in her chest, her lungs bursting.
“Were just not right for each other. I’m sorry goodbye.”
Dropping the phone onto the bed Simone walked to the bathroom her had resting on the doorknob turning it.
The water blocking her airway, her mind screaming at her to breathe, her heart saying just a little longer and it would be all gone.
Pushing the door open Simone saw Annabelle under the water. No not again, it can’t happen again. As images of Amanda flooded her mind she ran forward hands diving under Annabelle’s arms, pulling her up out of the water. Please god let her live don’t take her away from me. As Annabelle’s head broke the waters surface her eyes shot open, taking a deep breath in gulping the air. Relief surged through Simone as Annabelle grasped the side of the bath Simone collapsed to the floor.
“I thought you were dead. I cant loose you, I lost Amanda I cant loose you the same way.”
With this comment Annabelle realised how selfish she had been. Climbing out of the bath taking Simone’s face in her hands, kissing both cheeks. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, I didn’t no what I was doing I was so upset about my mom and then when you phoned Michael, I just lost control. I had to try clear my head. Was that how Amanda killed her self?”
Shaking Simone could only nod as Annabelle continued to kiss her, feeling cold in her arms Annabelle started undressing Simone sliding her top off, and then her trousers she led Simone into the bath, sitting behind her she wrapped her arms around Simone.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know.”
Avoiding the subject of Amanda Simone said “I called Michael to break up with him, to tell him to stop calling.”
“ I just got so jealous, I hate sharing you. What with Michael and Amanda…”
Interrupting “Amanda’s dead how can you be jealous of her” Simone pushed Annabelle’s arms off her, turning to look for an explanation.
“her ghost, I love you and you say you love me but there’s a wall up. I just can’t break through and I feel the wall is Amanda’s ghost.”
“Annabelle” sighing “I loved Amanda but what I feel for you that so much more, when I’m not with you, I miss you. Every look melts my heart. Every kiss every touch you make me want you even more, I can’t get enough of you even when I’m with you.”
“Simone” Annabelle was able to wipe the tear away that was leaving a trail down that beautiful cheek.
“Right here right now lets just say goodbye to all the jealousy we feel about our lives. From now on it’s just us in this relationship. No ghosts.”
Showing her agreement Annabelle kissed Simone.
“now tell me what happened with your mom, that was so bad you nearly drowned yourself, even if you were only clearing your head. It doesn’t change it, we have to talk about it.”
