Love’s Game…Wanna Play? – (Chapter: recipe for disaster (aka dinner at the carlins) (3))
Once Spencer saw that her mother was in the kitchen, she pulled Ashley into her, clashing their lips together. This made Ashley smile and pull her closer. “Yo, Spence it’s all good that you’re a dyke, but keep it outside, will ya?” Glenn said, hobbling down the stairs. “Oh shut up, Gimp!” Spencer said with a scowl on her face. Then she smiled and pulled Ashley in again and kissed her. She stopped and looked at Glenn and asked, “Does that bother you Glenn?” Glenn shook his head slowly and wobbled into the kitchen with his crutches. Spencer looked at Ashley, “ugh, he’s so annoying sometimes.” she said, rolling her eyes. “You totally just used me, Spence.” Ashley said with a smirk. “What? How’d I do that?” Spencer replied. “You just used me to make your brother go away!” Ashley told her. “I did not!” Spencer countered. “um, yeah ya did.” Ashley insisted. “No I didn’t I kissed you. Am I not allowed to kiss you?” Spencer said raising an eyebrow. “Oh, I just wish you’d do it more often.” Ashley shot back, putting her arms around Spencer’s waist. “Alright, that’s enough!” Paula interrupted the lovers. “It’s time to sit down and eat.” She continued, pulling out her chair.

“So, Ashley, how’s your singing going?” Arthur asked, sincerely. “It’s going good Mr. C. How goes the talking to troubled teens?” Ashley smiled. “You would know, Ashley.” Paula interjected. “excuse me?” Ashley asked. “That’s enough Paula.” Arthur interrupted. “No, Arthur, that girl is a menace! She has corrupted Spencer’s mind.” Paula practically yelled. “Um, excuse me, that girl is right here!” Ashley stood up for herself. “It’s alright Ashley.” Spencer told her. “Ashley, I think you should get going.” Paula said, overlooking Spencer. “No, mom, she isn’t going anywhere, unless of course, I go with her. So if you want her to go home, I’m going too.” Spencer spoke up. “Spencer Carlin!” Paula yelled. “Paula, don’t do this now.” Arthur finally spoke. “Arthur, I am appalled that you would let this happen.” Paula responded to her husband. “What am I supposed to do, Paula? React like you do, scream and shout until your face turns blue?” Arthur shoots back. “I love our daughter no matter what.” He continued, smiling at Spencer. “Arthur that is enough! Ashley should leave now.” Paula said sternly. “No, Paula, you need to leave.” Arthur said as he stood up from his seat. Paula’s jaw dropped at Arthur’s sudden burst of bravery. “Now, Paula.” He said again. “Arthur, you cannot be serious. This is my own house. Where am I to go?” Paula said, flustered. “I think your friend, Ben can help you can’t he, Paula?” Arthur said, finally putting his foot down. “Arthur I-” Paula began. “No, Paula, you need to get out, now. Don’t bother coming back until you sort out your priorities, until you can figure out that your family comes before all else.” Paula took in a breathe and stood up and walked out of the front door without saying anything else, knowing she would not win this battle.
“Um, kids, I think we should all get some rest. Clay can you help me clean up, please?” Arthur asked his son. “yeah, sure, dad.” He replied. “I’m just going to help Glenn upstairs first, okay?” He continued. “Yeah, alright, I’ll get started awhile,” Arthur said, gathering up plates. “I’ll help, dad” Spencer said, crying because of what just happened. Ashley was trying to comfort her. “No, it’s okay, Spence. I think Clay and I have it covered. You should go on home with Ashley, tonight, honey.” Arthur said kissing his daughters forehead then smiling warmly at Ashley. “That’d be okay, yeah?” He directed the question towards Ashley. “Yeah, that’s fine, Mr. C, Spencer’s always welcome at my house.” Ashley reassured him. This made Spencer smile a little. Ashley put her arm around her shoulders and led her out of the dining room. “Bye, Clay!” Spencer shouted up the stairs, still shaken up. “what, and I don’t get a goodbye, you twerp!” Glenn shouted from his room. Spencer giggled a bit and said, “Bye, to you too, Glenn!” She shouted. With that, our heroes were out the door and in Ash’s porche. “You okay, Spencer?” Ashley asked once they were moving. “I really don’t even know.” She replied to her newfound girlfriend. Ashley turned on the radio and soon the car was filled with “I WRITE SINS NOT TRAGEDIES” by Panic! At the disco. “I love this song!” Spencer shouted out and turned up the radio. Ashley smiled and laughed at her girlfriend’s cuteness.
A few minutes later they were at Ashley’s mansion. Ashley opened the front door and was over taken by Spencer pushing her up against the nearest wall. “Spence, what-” Ashley was stopped by Spencer index finger pressed against her lips. “Remember our agreement, Ashley?” Ash looked at her oddly, “Well, it looks like you’re in one piece.” Spencer smiled mischievously, and pulled Ashley into her again. They both scampered up the staircase and into Ashley’s room.
