Loved and Lost – (Chapter: Three: Try To Feel)

When Aiden had approached the room, he really hadn’t expected to see Spencer sitting beside the bed, hand caressing the face of the girl he still desired, even if he knew it would never happen. His body had stiffened  at the sight of Spencer as he was tempted to just  turn and leave and avoid the drama being here would cause. But no, he had a right to be here, and no one was going to stop him, “How is she?” He spoke quietly, walking a few steps into the room.

The sound  of Aiden’s voice was enough to make her stomach turn and the sweet feeling of love turn sour. Of all people to ruin this moment, of course it had to be him. Turning in her seat she looked at him, brows low as she glared a whole in his eyes, “Whatever part of you makes you think you can talk to me, it’s wrong.” She spoke, arms crossing over her chest as she stared at him.

How a girl who could be so sunny and cheerful could also be so cold completely escaped him. Hell, even if he knew he deserved it, her response was a bit excessive in his opinion, “Hey, she is my friend too. I have a right to see her.” Aiden demanded, walking further into the room, “Besides, if it weren’t for you she wouldn’t even be in here in the first place.

It was a low blow, but it was also true. “Screw you Aiden.” Spencer spoke rising to her feet and heading towards the exit of the room, “You disgust me.” She muttered lowly, although she was just close enough for him to hear her. Brushing past him she exited the room, deciding now was as good a time as any to talk a walk and get a bite to eat while Aiden took over Ashley watch for a while.

The boy remained silent, although the malice behind Spencer’s words did hurt a bit. After all, no one likes to be hated, especially when they deserve it. Once she had left he took a seat beside Ashley in the same chair Spencer had been camped out in for the last 24 hours. Even passed out in a hospital bed, with her face pail and even a hint of drool on her cheek, Ashley was still the most gorgeous girl he’d ever seen. He was so in love with her, but no matter what she was just never in love with him. And now, with Spencer back in her life, his chances were slimming by the second.

    1. I’m so thankful to here Spencer’s confession of love towards Ashley, but I’m miffed at the presence of Aiden the antagonist. Love the story…PMS
