Lost in the Move – (Chapter: 8 After Shock)

    Ashley’s POV

She didn’t come.  I can’t believe she didn’t come.  After the way her mom treated me, you’d think she would’ve at least called to make sure I was okay.  But nothing.  Not one single fucking phone call!  Okay, I can’t be mad at Spencer.  She didn’t do anything.  She was just as blindsided by her mom’s bigotry as I was.  Her mom probably took her cell phone and locked her in her room.  What a bitch!  Great now all I can do is wait and hopefully she’ll be at school tomorrow.

    Kyla’s POV

Finally we’re home.  That club was so lame.  Oh well, I guess that’s what happens when I let Aiden plan our dates.  That’s funny Ash’s car is here but all the lights are out.  I bet she’s upstairs with Spencer.  Family dinner must’ve went better than expected.  As Aiden and I walk into the house we hear Ashley’s music blaring which is not unusual but the song is.

    "Had a bad day again

She said I would not understand

She left a note and said ‘I’m sorry I

    had a bad day again’"

"Uh oh."  Aiden says.  We both know that when Ash plays Bad Day by Fuel she’s heartbroken.

"Something must’ve went down at Spencer’s.  I wonder if they got into a fight?"  I ask worried about my sister.

"I don’t know, but you should go talk to her."  Aiden suggests.

"Ugh, me.  Why me?"  I really don’t do well with these kinds of conversations.

"Umm…because she’s your sister."  He states in a ‘duh’ kind of tone.

"So she’s your best friend and you’ve known her longer."  Okay so I’m kind of a shitty sister, but hey if you’ve ever seen Ashley upset you would find any excuse to stay away.

"So, sister trumps friend every time."  Ugh, I’m running out of excuses.  While we’re both stalling for time, we hear the music get louder.

"She spilled her coffee, broke her shoelace

Smeared the lipstick on her face

Slammed the door and said, ‘I’m sorry I had a

    bad day again"

"Where’s Rachel when you need her?"  I ask in frustration as I throw my hands up in defeat.  Rachel is the best at dealing with an upset Ashley.  "Well I’m off to my doom.  If I don’t come back in 30 minutes you better come in after me."
