    Irrevocably yours part 4

    Bella

Slender, icy fingers trailed through the strands of hair from my scalp to my shoulder. Tearing sounds were emanating from somewhere in the darkened room but I couldn’t see through the curtain of tears where they came from.
“It’s all right, Bella.” The musical voice like tinkling of wind chimes whispered in my ear. “You’re safe, now.”
Since I could only feel, not see anything, I felt the hardness of Alice’s body against me and tightened my arm around her waist. Hugging a concrete wall never felt more comfortable.
The tearing sounds continued emanating from the room and Alice shifted to the side until she sank down. She curled me up on her lap and I discovered two things.
The first, that we were sitting on my bed. And the second, that the strange sounds were sobs from my own mouth.
Alice waited, they both did, (I didn’t hear Edward speak once), for my sobs to soothe.
My arm stayed tightened around Alice’s waist.
Yes, this illusion felt real too.
At last, I was able to breath in the tears. My eyes stung but I caught glimpses of her midnight black hair, her slightly darker golden eyes.
“Alice…”I struggled to keep my voice steady. “You’re really here.” It came out like a question.
Alice kissed the top of my head.
“He was telling the truth, you know?” She murmured in the smallest of tones. “I can see your future now, Bella. He will stay. As long as you want him, he’ll stay.”

The pillow spun underneath my head. I was reluctant to open my eyes. In the dream I had everything was wintry. Even the pillow felt cold.
However, that was probably due to the snow fairy lying on the other end of it. Once I caught a glimpse of her lovely pale face my eyes slit open all the way.
A plink hit the frozen glass of the window. It was a rainy morning but the celestial water fell thinly.
“Alice!” I remembered the fairy’s name.
She turned her head slowly towards me, her eyes had been closed. But by the rigid immobility of her tiny body I could tell that she hadn’t really been asleep.
Alice pulled the quilt over my shoulders, yet I slipped my arms out. My hands crept up her chin to her cheeks.
“I’m not dreaming?” I wondered aloud as I discovered the abnormal beauty of this creature.
The fairy exuded a musical laugh. All tinkling. “No, silly.” She kissed the top of my head. “I told you we’d stay.”
    We.
Slowly, I turned my head towards the window. There was nothing there but the dripping rain. Off to the side, tensely seated on the rocking chair was the other fantastic creature from my dream. The chair rocked back and forth without a single creak. His hands were clasped together in his lap. His expression was concerned but at the same time reserved.
Laying my head back on the pillow with a groan, I was glad that today was Saturday.
No school, no interruptions to keep me from telling Jacob-
“Jacob!” I gasped and sat up.
“Who?” Alice smoothed my hair out. A deep frown crossed her magical face. Her forehead creased with irritation. “Oh. Werewolf.”
Before I could recapitulate the worries about what to tell Jacob, another thought occurred to me.
    I turned to Alice.
“You can’t see werewolves?” I inquired, mystified.
The irritation remained on her forehead. Her lips pulled up in a pout but her eyes flamed with such rage that I cringed.
    “So it seems.” She muttered.
