“So, Dad…” she began.
“Mmhmm,” he replied, through mouthfuls of pasta.
“I was wondering, um… if you’d be okay with me moving into Ashley’s apartment after finals this year.” Bam. There it was. He gulped loudly and put down his fork.
“It’s a nice place, Mr. C. It’s only, like, a few blocks from Columbia. And it’s really safe… mostly other people in the industry. There’s a doorman, sprinkler system, a bunch of locks that I really don’t know how to use but I could figure them out, and there’s a fire escape right outside one of the windows,” I rambled. He smiled and nodded slightly, as if to say he understood my point.
“I’m sure it’s a beautiful place, Ashley. I’m just concerned, knowing that you’re probably away a lot. I don’t feel all that comfortable with Spencer being alone at night in New York City.”
“Dad, come on! There have been plenty of times that Allie hasn’t come back at night. And I’m not 5 years old anymore. I can handle it,” Spencer insisted. “Besides, I’m sure I could get a friend to come stay over if I really needed to.”
“I’m really not away that much, either,” I added.
“And what about your schoolwork, Spencer?”
“What about it?” she asked.
“Are you going to be able to concentrate in that kind of environment? I mean one with plenty of distractions?”
“Dad, are you kidding? You think Ashley’s apartment is going to have more distractions than a college dorm with 200 other people living in the same building? My grades will be fine, I promise. I’m at her place all the time anyway.” I tried to imagine what he must have thought I lived like.
“Mr. C., I really don’t, you know, have like, wild, crazy, rock star parties or anything. I don’t usually have anyone over my apartment in the first place, besides Spencer. I’m a lot more boring than the tabloids say. And I don’t smoke or do drugs or, like, drink heavily.” I felt like I was filling out a personal ad for the newspaper.
“I know, Ash. I’m not worried about that,” he replied with a smile. An uncomfortable silence passed and I glanced at Spencer, wondering what should happen now.

I AM GLAD THAT I WILL BE GETTING BROWNINS AND A MILKSHAKE, LOL!!!!! Anyways, the update was great. I loved the way that Mr. C is worried about Spencer moving in with Ashley because it probably means to him, that his little girl is like getting married and is not going to be around alot, anymore. I just hope that Mr. C will be okay with it and that Ashley and Spencer will be fine too. GREAT CHAPTER AND PMS PLEASE!!!!!
Great post. Aww I think its adorable that Spencers taking care of Ashley. I can understand where Mr. C is coming from, his little girls growing up! lol i just hope he’ll come around and be okay with them living together. Love the story. Please Post More Soon :]
how much do i love this story? so much that imma be late for Orgins in SE Asian theatre, just cause i couldnt handle not reading it…..ps i’m not liking ash’s symptoms. this sounds serious. Keep up the good work chica

Memo to the employees of all A&W restaurants: Please note that from this moment on I no longer have to tolerate your horrendous interpretation of “customer service” when I order a root beer float. All root beer floats will be provided by Kozmic from this moment on. Carry on, people! Here’s the thing Kozmic, while I should be doing actual work tomorrow I’m pretty sure that I’ll be wracking my brain on this chapter. Much like Michael Jackson, something’s not right (any chance that some table clearing sex will make Ashley feel better? Just a thought!). I can’t wait to see what you have in store for these ladies. Hopefully it’s all good…who am I kidding, I do enjoy drama in the world of fanfic. In real life, “I Can’t Go For That” like Hall & Oates. Wow, I embarrass myself more and more with each of my comments…what 26 year old would admit to liking Hall & Oates? Here’s the deal Kozmic, I’ll be leaving for a one week business trip as of Saturday so if I don’t comment between the 14th and 21st, please don’t think that I’ve abandoned ship. I’ll actually be curled up in a corner going through withdrawals from this story. Please hook us up with another chapter soon!
