Spencer POV

Ashley: Spencer, please.

Spencer: Im sorry Ashley.

I dont know why my life is sucking the way it is, but I really cant deal with all this crap right now. Dont get me wrong I love Ashley, its just really hard dealing with everything and now the attempted rape… I dont know its just the worst.

Ashley: Spencer, I love you.

Spencer: I know and I love you too, but I cant deal with everything right now. I just need some space for a while. When I get things all figured out I’ll let you know.

Ashley: Okay. I understand. Just promise me… promise me that we’ll get back together? It doesnt have to be anytime soon, just sometime.

Spencer: I promise.

We’re both in tears, me because I just almost got raped and because I just broke up with the love of my life, and Ashley because her girlfriend was almost raped and i just broke up with her.

Ashley: So, what do we do now?

Spencer: I need to go back home for a couple weeks, and just clear my head.

Ashley: Okay, just… nevermind.

Spencer: What were you going to say?

Ashley: Just know that Im here for you. And if you need to talk to someone… Im willing to listen.

Spencer: Thank you. And you just know that because we’re not… together anymore, dont think that that doesnt mean we cant be friends. I need you in my life, Ash. I just can have you in it the way we both want right now.

Ashley: Okay. I understand.

Spencer: Thank you.

I went home, and was welcomed by my dad. He’s always been my number one supporter, before I met Ashley. I told him everything, from what happened with mom to what happened with Mark and Ashley.

Arthur: You broke up with Ashley:

Spencer: Yeah. I did.

I start crying again. I feel so weak when I cry, and I dont want my dad seeing me like this.

Arthur: Why did you do it, Spen?

Spencer: Its just, I couldnt deal with everything thats going on, and being in a relationship with her was the one thing that I could control you know? I do love her, but I cant do all of this right now.

Arthur: Does Ashley know that?

Spencer: Yeah, I told her.

Arthur: You know what I think?

Spencer: Hmmm?

Arthur: That you need to get back over there and tell Ashley you can be with her. Youre not the only one who has to go through it, you know. She might be feeling the same thing, and I know for a fact that she needs you. Go over there and tell her you want to get back together. Me and you can work out the other stuff on the side. You can stay here as long as you need to, but Im not going to let you break up with Ashley. She makes you happy, and thats the only thing I want out of the person thats dating my baby girl.

Did I mention that I love my dad? He gives the best advice

Spencer: Thanks dad.

Arthur: Youre welcome. Now go get your girl!
