“No, it was planned… we’ve been trying for a few months” Ashley sighed looking away from Aiden’s angry face. He made a move and sat back on the swing.

“If you’ve been planning this, then why are you leaving?” he said completely confused.

“I saw a photo today, it was taken the day after we found out we were…..” she stopped as the tears engulfed her.

“Ash, that was a lifetime ago, this isn’t the same” Aiden spoke unsure of whether to plead her to see sense or hit her across the head.

“Aid, I can’t do this, baby one was taken away from me for a reason, I’m not capable of loving someone else, and I’m not capable of taking care of someone else” she sobbed. Again Aiden jumped off his swing and encased Ashley in a hug.

“ash do you love Spencer?” he asked seriously, looking deep into her eyes, he knew the answer, hell the whole world knew the answer, but he needed her to answer.

“yeah of course I do, I love her more than anyone or anything, which is why I cant do this to her, I cant let myself hurt her like this” Ashley mumbled between her tears.

“Ash, what happened to our baby… it was heartbreaking, I have never gotten over it, and I guess neither have you, I wish everyday that …. You know… things had been different, that we would have a child running around now, but you know what… there was a reason for it, and that reason was…. I dunno… fate?!” he said unsure of where he was going with this himself.

“How do you work that one out” she sighed.

“because… someone up there, someone knew that although we loved… love each other, we weren’t meant to be and bringing a baby into that would be wrong… someone up there knew that you and Spence were meant to be, and that one day the pair of you would end up having a baby yourself, and that baby should be your first born, someone you can love with Spencer, someone who wont have been an accident, or a mistake or I don’t know, an inconvenience” he sighed.

“Our baby would never have been any of those” she said looking into Aiden’s eyes.” and I do love you” she sighed.

“Yeah I know, I love you too and that is why I’m here, to stop you making this stupid choice, you and Spence…. What you have is the reason the world goe’s round. That night you proposed to her, I remember sitting there watching the pair of you and thinking wow, I hope one day someone looks at me that way” he sighed.

“Ash, having this baby, its not going to erase our baby, its not going to make you forget, but it is going to be a part of you and Spence, it’s the next step you get to take together, having all that love you share together, put into a tiny person” he smiled warmly.

“Where the hell did you go… gay camp?!” she smiled.

“Something like that, now what do you say, you have a beautiful wife and a gorgeous baby waiting at home for you” he stood holding his hand to her, she stood and wrapped her arms around him holding him close to her.

“I love you aid, always remember that. I maybe in love with Spence, but there’s always a place for you in my heart” she said, pulling him towards the cars.

“You ok?” he asked as they stood waiting to get in.

“Yeah I just, I dunno I freaked” she sighed embarrassed.

“You wouldn’t be Ashley, if you didn’t” he smiled at her cheekily. “I’m always here ash, anyplace anytime, just remember what it was like last time you lost her… her didn’t want to be alive, neither did she, your destined to be together and be happy” he said opening his door.

“I know, see you at the house?” she smiles.

“Race you there!” he said jumping in the car.
