    Oh it puts a smile in my heart
    Everything becomes a little clearer

    Spencer smiled as she signaled to Ashley to get the food.  The brunette nodded as she stood carefully, watching Kennedy the whole way over to the table.  She grabbed the tray and brought it with her back to her spot next to Spencer.  She picked up the spoon and carefully fed the blonde her pudding.  Ashley fed her everything that was on the tray, and then placed it back on the table.  The nurse came in soon after and took the tray away, telling them that Spencer is going to be released in the morning.  After she left another nurse came in and took Kennedy back to the nursery.  The girls cuddled up on the bed and fell asleep with smiles on their faces.

     

    The next morning Ashley pulled the car around as the nurse stood waiting with Spencer and Kennedy at the curb.  Ashley rushed to the passenger side and helped her get into the car and then put Kennedy in her car seat.  As she was walking back to the driver’s side, she saw Paula standing at the door watching them.  Ashley caught her gaze and they just stood there for a little while.  The brunette could see the pain on her face, and she wondered why she wasn’t saying goodbye to them.  She was angry at the older blonde for the stunt she pulled the night before, but it was her family.  Ashley gave her a slight wave and Paula nodded back and then walked away from the door.  Ashley got back into her car and took her family home.

     

    When they arrived they took Kennedy into their bedroom and placed her in the crib by the bed.  They had agreed that for a while she would sleep with them.  Which was perfect for Ashley since she still had to finish her new room.  Ashley put Spencer and Kennedy o bed and then went to the bedroom next to theirs.  She turned on the light and smiled at the newly finished room.  There was a note attached to the baby’s crib.  Ashley read the note as she walked back into her bedroom.
