Face Your Fears – (Chapter: Chapter 1: Two Years)

“Get out of my car now,” I painfully choke out some how.

Her grip on my chin loosens and she looks shocked at what she just said to me but I don’t care.

    “Get out,” I choke again.

“Spen-,” she starts softly, but is cut off by my hand connecting with her cheek. The slap is hard and the sound is deafening.

“GET OUT! GET OUT! GET OUT! Now,” I scream at the top of my lungs shoving towards the passenger door and basically pushing her out of the car.

When she’s out of the car I grab her door and slam it shut and lock it before she can do anything. I her trying to get back in and screaming my name but I don’t care, I just throw the car in reverse and peel out so fast that I left tire marks.

I know I left marks because the next day when I went back to Ashley’ house to confront her they were still on the ground. I surprised at what I saw in Ashley’s room when I got there. Kyla was sobbing on the floor clenching a note to her chest as she rocked back and forth.

    “Kyla, what’s wrong? What happened?”

She just looks up at me and hands me the note before sobbing again. I read it three or four times before actually noticing the room around me. It looked like it had been hit by a hurricane. Dresser drawers were pulled out and thrown about the room, her closet was empty, hangers lay every where, her television was beaten to a pulp a long with her mirror, her couch and bed were slashed to pieces in rage. I sat down next to Kyla and pulled her into me as we both cried. She hurt us all til we could take no more then ran for the hills before she had to take responsibility. I read the note one last time before balling it up:

Fuck you all, especially a certain blonde. I hate you all, I’m leaving and never coming back. Hope you all have shitty lives.

    Hatefully,

           Ashley

It had been two years; we were 15 then and 17 now. I dropped the clipboard when my tear fell on her name. She left us all in pain and forgot about us, so we tried to forget about her. But now? Now she was going to bombard us with no warning by showing up out of nowhere. I’m angry, livid, hurt, scared, nervous, and… happy she’s finally coming back. This time I’m not letting her go without a fight and some answers.
