Ashley shook her head. “No, the Nazi doesn’t know.”
“It’s strange how people change so drastically.” He looked upwards and tried to gather his thoughts. “Spencer’s so completely different. More confident. Less likely to take crap. You get what I mean?”
“I know exactly what you mean.”
“I can even tell from her e-mails – I’ve kept all of them – it’s like a progression.”
“What doesn’t she say in the e-mails?”
Easy hopped onto the fence and patted the rail next to him for Ashley to sit. She did and he proceeded to answer her question.
“Towards the later e-mails, she’s mentioned you a lot. Especially in the last two months.”
“We got together two months ago,” Ashley said, to herself more than anyone.
Easy nodded for a moment as he was piecing things together. “Look, I like you just fine. Better than I ever liked that bastard James,” he looked at Ashley with a completely serious expression as he whispered, “but if you hurt her. I mean, like really hurt her, destroy her emotionally…" He put a hand on her shoulder and gave it a firm squeeze. "I will hunt you down, and then I will fucking destroy you. Savvy?”
Ashley gulped silently as her eyes grew to the size of saucers. She could tell that Easy wasn’t fucking around. “Yeah…g-gotcha.”
He hopped down off the fence, reached in and out of his pocket, and then ran his hand through his hair. “So, uhm…w-what do you think of it here?”
With furrowed brows, Ashley hopped down off the fence, as well. “That was random, Easy…”
“Well, I’m trying to change the subject,” he blurted. He shook his head and swiped his hand down his face. “I really did not mean to get harsh with you, just then. I’m sorry…sorry.”
Ashley looked at him concerned, as he continued to run his hands through his hair and mutter apologies.
“Hey…hey, it’s okay. I know you care about her, so you’re just making sure she doesn’t get hurt. Right?”
He nodded with his face buried in his hands.
“Then you’ve got nothing to worry about.” Easy’s mannerisms were starting to really worry her. “Are you okay? You don’t look so hot.”
“’m fine,” he mumbled. “Okay…no, I’m not.” He reached into his pocket, again, but this time it didn’t come out empty handed. He had pulled out a pack of cigarettes and he fumbled to get one out.
“Oh, not you, too…” Ashley commented, with slight shock in her voice.
He nodded solemnly as he lit one and took a long drag, seemingly sucking the calm back into himself.
After he regained some of his composure, he looked at Ashley, let out a heavy breath through his nose, and said, “Honey, you don’t know a thing about my sins…”

I’m so thankful you are updating this fan-freaking-tastic story. Have you ever noticed that Spencer and Ashley are never allowed intimate moments without getting interrupted, but when they’re with others no interruptions are forthcoming…it’s maddening. Anyway, what kind of secrets remain hidden in Easy’s bizarre mind? Great update…PMS!
