Ever the Same – (Chapter: Ch. 10: New Girl’s Got Skills)

The jock shrugged and picked up two coffee stirrers, sticking one in each of his nostrils, “Look, I’m a walrus,” he said in a stupid voice. Ashley chuckled and shook her head.

“Wow, Spencer, you’ve got some mature friends,” a voice said from behind Aiden.

Spencer walked up to the booth, Kyla in tow, “Yeah. And knowing Ash, she’s already made and destroyed her pyramid de les coffee creamers.” She smirked, “Hey guys, this is Kyla.”

Aiden turned to greet the girl. But when he did, his mouth went dry. He stumbled to stand and threw out his hand. “My Aiden name is hi!” he grimaced, “Meese to nite you!” he hung his head. “God damn it…”

Kyla giggled, “Meese to nite you, too.” she smirked, “And those coffee stirrers? Totally work for you, hot shot.” She gave him a thumbs up.

The jock’s eyes widened; he still had the stirrers in his nose, so he quickly removed them, and sat down hiding his head in his hands.

Ashley laughed from across the table, “Hey there, I’m Ashley.” she extended a hand to the smaller brunette. Kyla shook the hand offered to her and smiled. Ashley turned to face Spencer. “Glad you found your way. Me and Mr. Walrus Man were getting worried.” She received a glare from Aiden that she shook off.

Spencer sat down in the booth next to Ashley, “I got lost at first,” she admitted, “but we found it, nonetheless.” She grabbed Ashley’s shoulder and gave it a light squeeze, receiving a smile from the brunette. A shoulder squeeze, they had decided, would be their sign of affection, when they were in public. It was basically the equivalent to a kiss.

The brunette looked up at a still standing Kyla, “C’mon, pop a squat. He won’t bite,” she said motioning to Aiden with her thumb.

“Oh, yeah, sorry.” The jock scooted closer to the wall, letting them small girl slide in.

“Y’all want something, or are ya just gon’ sit there?” a bland looking waiter asked somewhat harshly.

“Oh, uh,” Aiden spoke up, “Four regular coffees?” he asked looking around the table receiving nods from the girls.

“Stick it with a shot of espresso for me,” both Ashley and Kyla said simultaneously.
