Crazy Thing Called Love – (Chapter: Chapter Eight)

There was a knock on fifteen year old Ashley’s bedroom door. “Go away, Kyla,” Ashley stated with a sigh. Spencer opened the door.

“Nope, I’m not Kyla,” responded Spencer with a smile.

“S-Spencer?” Ashley said in disbelief. W-what are you doing here?

“You were right about Jack and me,” began Spencer. We didn’t work out.

“Oh,” Ashley said. Well, I’m sorry to hear that.

“No, you’re not,” replied Spencer. You never liked him to begin with.

“The loser made you happy though and you liked him,” Ashley sighed. That was what mattered.

“You make me happy, too Ashley Davies,” added Spencer as she sat down next to Ashley. Ashley had a confused look on her face. “The thing is that you have nothing to worry about. My heart is fine. I met someone new who happens to be just like you.” Spencer took Ashley’s hand in hers and squeezed it.

“W-what are you doing?” Ashley stammered.

“Holding your hand feels right,” responded Spencer with a smile. It’s almost like our hands were made for one another. What do you think?

“I suppose,” Ashley sighed as she stared at their interlocked hands. It really doesn’t make much of a difference, does it?

“Yes, it does make a difference,” began Spencer. I don’t want to be just your friend either. A smile formed on Ashley’s lips. “I am so sorry that it took me so long to figure that out though.”

“It’s okay because I would wait forever for you,” Ashley explained with a smile. Spencer returned the smile. “Will you be my girlfriend, Spencer Carlin?”

“I wouldn’t have it any other way, Ashley Davies,” smiled Spencer. Ashley kissed Spencer passionately on the lips.

Ashley sighed sadly at the memory. She looked at the picture of her and Spencer on their first date that Arthur had taken. Arthur had passed away from a car accident several months later. Ashley noted how happy they looked that night. Spencer had a point; they were not the same people they used to be.

Ashley nervously rang the doorbell to Spencer’s house for their first date. Arthur was the one who opened the door. “Good evening, Mr. C,” Ashley began rather apprehensively. Is Spencer ready for our date?

“I’ll go get her,” responded Arthur. Spencer! What are your intentions with my daughter? Ashley gulped.
