“no there’s a perfectly good reason…” she said “…my sister is crazy about you, and she gets side tracked sometimes but she knows what’s right in front of her”

“I think it’s the side tracked part that scares me” I admitted to her

“yeah well…I know there will be times when you want to kill her or at least punch her in the head” she said making me laugh “but in the end, you can look in her eyes and see what she wants”

“yeah I know…but then Aiden calls” I told her

“who cares…” she told me “…look, if you worry about him then it will eventually effect you, just let it go and it’ll leave you alone” she explained “…I’ve had it happen to me and I’ve seen it happen with Ashley before”

“she’s had relationships like me?” I asked her

“hell no” she told me quickly “you’re the first girl she’s brought home that we liked…she really grew up her senior year and got out of a bad relationship that got her into a lot of trouble”

“so that’s why she didn’t date for two years…”

“till she met you” she told me “…Spencer you’re a great girl, and you make my sister happy” she added “and I don’t know how this whole cancer thing is going to play out, so if I don’t end up making it much longer then someone has to put the girl in her place” she said trying to make me smile “so honestly, Ashley will come out here and she’ll give you another apology, just take it…it’s sincere” she added then she got up and rubbed my back then went back into the house

A few minutes later I got up to go back into the house then Ashley was behind me and it scared me a little “holy shit” I gasped

“sorry…” she replied

“it’s fine” I said catching my breath

“look, Spencer…your mad, and you have every right to be, and yeah sometimes I ask myself why you’re with me because I can be a pain in the ass and I mess up a lot…but for some reason you’re still here…” she told me “…Spence, I’m in love with you…and I know I tell you I love you all the time but that’s because I’m so afraid to lose you, and you’re the best thing that’s happened to me in a long time” she explained then I went up to her and held her hands in mine
