Church of Hot Addiction – (Chapter: Chapter Sixteen)

Ashley pulled back and we both looked over at Clay who looked embarrassed and Glen who looked a little too happy.

“Umm…Spence?” Clay said looking at me with a funny look.

“Yeah?” I said sitting up on Ashley’s lap.

“You should probably put your shirt back on…Mom and Dad will be in here soon.” He said nodding towards my discarded shirt.

I blushed when I realized that my shirt had been removed while Ashley and I had been kissing. I looked at her and she shrugged her shoulders winking. I reached down and quickly put it back over my body and straightened my hair and skirt.

“Spencer! Honey…we saw the letter and I decided to get everyone together…” My mother said rounding the corner to find me and Ashley on the couch still a little flustered from our activities just a few moments before. “Hello Ashley…” She said forcing a smile.

Since Ashley and I had been dating for quite some time now, my mother had started to lighten up about our relationship. I knew she still had a problem with the whole situation but I could tell that she was starting to understand that this wasn’t just some phase I was going through.

“Hey Mrs. C.” Ashley said standing up and waving at my mother.

I stood as well and picked up the now crumpled acceptance letter from Harvard. My mother saw the letter in my hands and held her breath.

“What does it say sweetie?” She asked looking at the letter and then back at me.

My dad rounded the corner and saw the anticipation in my mother’s face and looked at me with curious eyes.

“Well…” I started as I tried to hide my excitement not wanting to ruin the surprise. “I…I got in.” I whispered.

“What?” My mother said not hearing what I said.

I smiled widely and looked up at my family. “I got in!” I practically squealed out.

My mother and father clapped their hands and pulled me in for a hug. “Congratulations sweetie!” They said in unison as they held me tightly.

Clay came over and joined in the hug. “Wow Spence…that’s just…wow.”
