Church of Hot Addiction – (Chapter: Chapter Seventeen)

“What? Oh come on…not even you know that one…” I said shaking my head at the choice of question.

“Actually the answer is Andrew Jackson…” She said sticking her tongue out at me.

“Whatever! Ask me something that someone who wasn’t a total nerd in school would know.” I said glaring at her.

“Fine…hmm…” She sat for a few moments and her eyes brightened when an idea came to mind. “Top selling female artist of 2005…and go…”

Think Ash think. I knew this and was just quickly working through my brain making sure to get it right. Suddenly it hit me. “Kelly Clarkson.” I said with full confidence.

“Wow…you actually got that one right?” She said in disbelief.

“Hey you are talking to a musical genius here duh! I have to know this stuff…how did you know though?” I asked raising an eyebrow.

“Well…it is my job kind of to know this stuff.”

“Oh right…Ms. Big Shot Lawyer to the stars…so do you like it?” I asked tilting my head up at her.

“Actually I think I do…my boss is an ass…but he’s pretty decent. The work is sometimes overwhelming but I get to meet so many different people it’s just so great.” She said with a happy grin.

“I’m glad…” I said rubbing my hands up and down her arms. She leaned down and kissed me softly on my lips making my heart flutter.

“Mmm…” She said as she let her lips just graze across my own never connecting them. Her breath was tickling my chin as she continued to just hover above my lips.

    *RING RING*

I was pulling Spencer into kiss me deeper but her face turned at the sound of my cell phone. I groaned as my phone continued to sound in the other room. Being as this house was rather large and to a point empty the sound echoed throughout loudly.

    *RING RING*

I refused to get up and answer the phone when all I wanted to do was stay with Spencer in my arms. I wanted to continue to tell her about what had happened over the years we had been apart which had been set on the backburner when the emotions ran high. It felt like a load had come off my shoulders after that talk we had and I wanted to just put it in the past as best I could.

    1. Patrick Bateman…creepy comparison. That movie was seriously disturbing and it definitely takes a lot to disturb me. I love the way you incorporate flashbacks into this story. I love all the spashley flashbacks.I’m glad you’re going to get the chance to write more in the next two weeks. Maybe you’ll get the chance to update Painted By Numbers…maybe?
