“God dammit Arthur obviously our lives aren’t perfect but please don’t do this!” 

Spencer heard her mother yell again for at least the fourth time today. Spencer laid on the floor near her door listening to what has become a daily routine for her parents. Arthur Carlin had loved his wife for more than half of his life but he could not bare the fact that his wife was cheating on him once again this year.

“I can’t Paula not anymore. I know that our marriage had problems but why would you go to Ben? After everything we have been through” Arthur asked his wife with a pained expression on his face.

“I’m sorry honey but I couldn’t help it. After what had happened with Clay, I just couldn’t. “Spencer cringed from upstairs as did Arthur at the mention of Clay’s death. “Ben was there for me through all this. He supported me.”

“When have I never supported you Paula? Every day I was on your side providing for you and this family and you CHEAT on me” Spencer can hear the hurt in her father’s voice. He was always there for her. He was an honest and humble man who never judged anyone by looks.

“NO Arthur you didn’t. For Christ’s sake our daughter believes she is in love with another girl and you condoned it. I have tried to live through it but I can’t. Ben he agrees with me and my beliefs.” Paula tried to explain. That was enough for Spencer to hear. She sighed and got up from the floor. Of course her mother would bring Ashley’s and her relationship into this.

The thing is Spencer and Ashley fought so hard to be together and faced all of the obstacles that were put in their way.  Since the event that occurred at prom both of the girls are struggling to keep their relationship strong. After Ashley finally cleared everything up with Aiden and made sure he was aware that they were just friends her and Ashley got back together. Spencer thought that everything would be fine afterward but then the issue with her parents came to play.

Spencer was knocked out of her thoughts by the ringing of her cell phone.

“Ashley” she said quickly rushing to her phone. “Hello”

“Hey gorgeous what’s cracking” Ashley replied. Spencer could hear Ashley’s smile which forced a grin on her own face.

“Nothing really just listening to my parents again”

“There still going at it huh?”

“Yeah I just wish this would stop. Never could I imagine my parents getting a divorced” Spencer said with a hint of disappointment. Of course the brunette picked up on it. She knew her girl probably better than anyone.

“Hey. How ‘bout I get you mind off of it. Take you out maybe hit the pier?” Ashley asked hopefully.

“That would be great babe.”

“Cool. Be there in twenty.” With that both girls hung up and got ready for what they hoped would be an exciting evening.
