All Alone – (Chapter: There For You)
“She lost a lot of blood, but we stitched it up and she’s resting now,” he stated. “Can I ask how this injury occurred?”
“She, she fell,” Aiden tried lying off the top of his head. From the expression on the doctors face, I could tell it failed miserably.
“None of you are relatives of Ms. Carlin?” It was more of a statement than a question.
“No,” Aiden shook his head. “But I could call her brother.”
“We need to get a decision from a family member whether we should have our psychologist analyze her.” Something about his routine seemed to drop at this point. The expression he gave felt personal. I think he knew more than he let on about Spencer’s family.
“She was suppose to start seeing someone in a few days,” Kyla stated. As she spoke I felt the hollow white walls absorbed every emotion that I tried to feel, hope, joy, my sanity. It ripped away everything. I need her.
“Can, can I see her?” I finally spoke up.
“Usually it’s family only, but she kept asking for one of you. Which one of you is Ashley?”
“So I can see her than?” I asked impatiently and irritated.
“Down the hall and to the left. It’s your third door on the right,” he sighed. I didn’t need to be told twice, as soon as the words left his lips I was gone.
I’ll be there for you when the sky falls down
I’ll be there for you when no one’s around
I’ll be there for you when there’s no way out and you’re down
and you frown
The door was only a few feet away, and my whole body seemed to itch in anticipation. I had no idea what the hell I was going to say to her. All I knew was that I needed her to be ok. I needed to see her.
Opening the door, I stepped into the silent room.
“Spencer?” I whispered almost afraid for some reason.
“Hey,” she murmured sitting up and looking in my direction, but never once glancing up to see my eyes. She never did when she’s afraid of how I’ll react, but right now I needed to see her beautiful blue eyes. Creeping over to the edge of the bed, I sat down next to her. “I’m sorry,” she stated running her fingers across the blankets.
