“Hey.”
“Hey” Spencer replied, voice soft and mellow.
It took Ashley a few moments to realize they were still standing on the doorstep staring at each other like idiots. She let Spencer in.
“You hungry?” She asked the blonde as they loitered with uncertainty in the foyer. It was after dinner but the question was the first one that came to mind so she let it roll off her tongue.
Spencer shook her head, still holding her bag like a security blanket. Ashley took pity on her.
“Um, I have popcorn and stuff upstairs. Tons of movies. Your choice…”She dangled the offer in her most teasing tone, trying to ease some tension out of the air. It worked.
Spencer laughed and Ashley watched her relax just a fraction. “You may regret that offer, I’m a hopeless romantic.”
“So long as you don’t make me watch Titanic I’m happy. And since I don’t own Titanic…”
“You’ll be happy?” Spence laughed with raised eyebrows.
“Yeah.” Ashley grinned back, and jerked her head towards the stairs. “Wanna come up?”
Some of the tension returned to Spencer’s shoulders, but she walked passed Ashley and up the stairs. Shrugging a little, the brunette followed her.
“So, what do you want to watch?” She asked while Spencer put down her bag. She was determined to keep up the charade that all she wanted to do was watch videos. If Spencer wanted more, then she’d have to make the first move because Ashley was terrified of pushing. She was more terrified that she’d push and Spencer would just say what she was thinking. She was most terrified of what that might be. Instead she pushed the charade.
“Um. Let me have a look.” Spencer knelt down next to the DVD’s and Ashley flopped back on the pillows she’d set up on the floor, leaning back against her bed. After watching Spencer flip through every single movie she owned, she watched the girl pull out Singing in the Rain and wave it happily. “This one.”
“Classic” Ashley commented with a raise of a brow, but she let Spencer put the DVD on without further ado. If her body tensed when Spencer leaned back on the pillows next to her, she tried not to let it show.

And here I thought the zombies were bad…but now PIRATES!?! You’re killing me here! I mean seriously I’m falling to the floor right now holding onto my key board as I go, typing…*Bang* You know I love your work and I see the cheese that I bribed you with has paid off twenty fold! *does a happy dance* Sorry that you have a headache, take two asprin and call me in the morning…OH better yet, WRITE MORE!!!! ;) I love how Ash doesn’t want to push Spence and at the end Spence wants her to Show her…*sigh* Ok so my next bribe involves a Brownie!!!

Awesome!…sooo littered with spelling and grammer errors, but I’ll over look those considering that this chapter was a)leading to smut, b)yes…we’re almost at the smutty part! and c) no pirates. Definately worth 10 hot panties on the pantie scale (which is out of 10….in case you wondered…geez)

I am enjoying this fic immensely, yet I am anxiously awaiting more of Spencer’s internal workings. There is some trepidation there on her part, despite her forwardness, yet I am sensing her assertiveness may be a result of whatever is making her tick. Oh and by the way, “Singin’ in the Rain” is the ever-amazing Gene Kelly, NOT Carey Grant. :)
