DCL 2 – Super Inspirations
Gotham City.
They have gathered around in a dark cave, underground and unknown to any outside of the premises. On a monitor, they see the news reports. They see the photos. They see the video. They see the one who has been tabbed by the Metropolis media as “Superwoman.” They have gathered to discuss this as they have had their own plans in place for Gotham City.
There are seven women gathered inside this cavernous setting. Their names are Helena, Barbara, Kate, Bette, Dinah, Stephanie, and Cheyenne. They all have something in common. They have grief. They have vengeance. They have a drive to do something about the corruption of their beloved home city. They have been training for this, yet have been unsure how to properly address it. How to address all of that crime and corruption.
Helena “I think we have our answer now.”
Dinah “What, just have Superwoman come over from Delaware in case she’s looking for a challenge?”
Helena “No. This is our city. This is our fight. And if we’re going to fight, we’re going to need to do it as a unit. As a family.”
Bette “Look at them. They’re inspired by her. It’s as if they wish to become better citizens because of her.”
Kate “Cousin, I don’t think that’s an issue here.”
Barbara “It’s not so simple here.”
Stephanie “I like that she inspires hope. Maybe we can do that.”
Helena “No. It’s different here in Gotham. The people here are too scared. If they could, they’d flee for Metropolis in a heartbeat. They would let the bad guys win and take over. Babs…your father is duly noted as an exception, but the G.C.P.D. is too corrupt to stop anything.”
Her name is Barbara. Her friends call her “Babs.”
Barbara “I agree. My father’s doing what he can, but…he can only do so much on his own.”
Helena turns to address the others.
Helena “That’s where we step in. We have spent all of this time training. Preparing. Sparring with one another. Developing gadgets. What we need is a symbol. We need something that can strike fear into the hearts of evil. Let Superwoman bring her hope and inspiration to Metropolis. This is New Jersey. Here, we have bad guys that only answer to fear. Fear…can be our inspiration.”
