The King High Killer – (Chapter: Chapter 5 Five to the Sky)
As an outsider, I find the situation quite amusing. For the two girls who were sharing the bed, it was a different matter altogether.
In the early hours of the morning on Friday, October twenty-third, Spencer Carlin and Ashley Davies were both lost in dreams about one another. If someone were asked about the blonde, they would tell you that she was a sweet girl and the brunette next to her was quite the opposite. But on the cold Friday morning, their dreams would indicate something entirely contradictory.
Dream-Ashley was in the process of making Dream-Spencer a delicious meal while the blonde looked on. The hazy dream-room could be interpreted as the Carlins’ kitchen and Dream-Ashley had everything decorated to the nines for her dream-girlfriend.
She had bought her flowers, slaved all day over a delicious dessert, and made sure that every single one of Spencer’s favorite foods were represented. As hoped, Dream-Spencer was very impressed.
They danced in candlelight to a song Ashley had written for her love, trading soft smiles and lingering kisses as the night wore on. And when the scene changed and Ashley held the blonde tightly in her strong arms, the blonde was whispering “I love yous” and promising to protect Ashley in every way.
Now, say what you want about Spencer Carlin, but in her dreams, Spencer Carlin was not sweet, and not when it came to a one, Ashley Davies.
Dream-Spencer had just thrown Dream-Ashley up against a brick wall, assaulting the brunette’s neck with her teeth and tongue that was making the brown-eyed beauty moan with unrelenting intensity. Dream-Spencer had some serious skills. She had somehow managed to strip Dream-Ashley of all her clothes by just imagining it so. She then, somehow, was able to put Dream-Ashley into a teeny tiny outfit that looked suspiciously like what Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz would wear if she was working the corner in order to get herself home.
Ashley was sighing next to a sleeping Spencer because in her dream-world her desires were being fulfilled; to be loved. Spencer was moaning next to a sleeping Ashley because in her dream-world her desires were being fulfilled; to truly be herself.
The awkwardness entered into the picture when sleeping Ashley reached over and wrapped an arm around Spencer’s squirming body, letting the blonde burry her face into the brunette’s neck. The awkwardness truly took form when Spencer started humping Ashley.
At first, Dream-Ashley went along with the sensation. Her dream adapted and she was making love to Dream-Spencer; slowly at first, but as the real blonde’s gyrating picked up, mostly due to the friction she was receiving from Real-Ashley against her, the brunette’s dream turned into passionate sex and she started humping right back.
Ironically, Spencer’s dream again changed because she could fully smell and feel Ashley now. The pair moved off the brick wall and were now lying next to one another on the very bed she was currently sharing with her ex best friend, and their passionate sex was turning into something much more intimate. In result, Spencer’s body slowed its pace into slow rhythmic grinding.
The effect was instantaneous.
Both still in a deep sleep, Ashley slipped her leg in between Spencer’s, allowing the grinding to really mature into some serious dry-humping through the thin material of their shorts. The blonde panted against the brunette’s neck, meeting her rhythm as her hand found Ashley’s back and began gripping the girl’s t-shirt in desperation.
Here comes the really awkward part.
Ashley was close to cuming, very close. And because of this, she was starting to wake up. Some part of her brain was aware that dreams aren’t supposed to feel that real. That part of her brain wondered why and decided to investigate.
Spencer was just as close and only grinded harder in reaction. Her nails dug into Ashley’s covered skin and her back arched into a bridge of pure want.
Unfortunately, at that exact moment, Dream-Ashley and Real-Ashley were leaning forward to place a soft kiss on both Dream-Spencer and Real-Spencer’s lips. So when Real-Spencer’s back snapped straight, out of its arch, both girls slammed heads, waking them up immediately.
“Fuuuuuuuck!” Ashley screamed as she covered her head, curled up in a tight ball from pain. “Owwww, owwwwww, fucking owwwww!” Spencer groaned right back, sitting up in the bed.
There was only about a five second window where Spencer and Ashley were confused about what was real and what was in fact their dream as they cried out in pain, both having a hand against the spot on their forehead where the blow had occurred. When those five seconds were up, blue and brown eyes widened out of their scrunched-up state, Spencer and Ashley jumped out of the bed and stared shocked at one another.
Spencer knew what she had been dreaming about. And Ashley knew what she had been dreaming about. They also both knew that only moments ago their dream had partly come to life. What they weren’t sure about is whether or not the girl standing on the other side of the bed knew.
Seconds ticked by as they stared at one another, still furiously rubbing at their injuries, hoping the other didn’t noticed their flushed and embarrassed face. “I’m jumping in the shower,” Spencer mumbled over Ashley, as she murmured, “I’m putting on some coffee.”
Ashley quickly moved around the bed to get to the door as Spencer darted forward towards her bathroom, only to run into one another. They both hastily apologized before they made their escape.
Neither mentioned that the night before they had started out sleeping on the opposite side of the bed they had woken up on.
While Spencer speedily shampooed her hair, frantically trying to distract herself from visions of her dreams and ideas on how to cure the pounding between her thighs, Ashley was downstairs brewing terrible coffee, attempting to figure out a way to cover up what just took place while she shifted uncomfortably to relieve her own ache.
Ashley failed epically, Spencer, on the other hand, had a stroke of genius.
Yes.
Pun intended.
Both of them.
“So I was thinking after school today we should hit up Halloween Haven.” Spencer said as she entered the kitchen, hair still damp from her shower, face still a little flushed from tending to her need.
Ashley looked up from the newspaper lying open on the island to appraise the blonde beauty. She was momentarily distracted by her ex best friend, but recovered quickly. “Spence, we don’t need to do that thirty-one days of Halloween. Don’t worry about it, there’s too much going on.” Ashley told her before sipping her coffee.
“Yes, we are still doing that because there is so much going on, but that’s not why we’re going.” Ashley stared at Spencer’s back as the blonde poured herself a cup of coffee. “Then why are we going to Halloween Haven?”
“For disguises.” The blonde said, turning to face the brunette with a sly grin on her face. “Disguises for what?”
“Ash, how are we going to follow Carmen around without disguises? I figured we’d head over there after school, pick up some wigs or something, and then go meet my dad at the Sheriff’s station before we started staking-out Carmen. It’s Thursday night so she’ll probably go out. We need to be prepared.” Thursday night, for some reason, was the only night in Tumbull that mattered. The weekends were usually spent at Paula’s Place for the teenagers of the town, or else at Erin Klienschmidt’s, whenever her parents went away, for a house party.
“We won’t need to follow Carmen around once we talk to the Deputy, Spence. He’ll be looking out for her.” Spencer scoffed as she walked over to the cabinet to grab a box of cereal. “Do you seriously think the Deputy is going to believe our crazy story, Ash?” Ashley nodded in agreement as she went to the fridge to retrieve the milk, but one whiff told her that the power outage had finally taken effect. “We’ll stop at Dunkin Donuts.” Spencer promised before she put the Fruity Pepples back where she found them.
“Okay, so meet me here at two-fifteen. I’m cutting out of my history class a little early so we can rush over to the Halloween store. In the meantime, keep a close eye on Mendez.” Spencer said as she and Ashley walked across the busy quad, both with a large Dunkin Donut’s coffee in their hand.
“The paper said that security is tight around campus, Spence, I’m sure we’re safe here.” It was funny how both girls were acting. Despite the fact that they were walking right next to one another, they were not looking in the other’s direction, but all around campus as though they were having a secret, important meeting and didn’t want anyone else aware. They both donned shades, whispering back and forth, and eyeing students behind their sunglasses as though afraid someone would pick up on their conversation.
No one even noticed them. No one of importance… well almost no one of importance.
But perhaps it was the noticeable presence of extra security. Or maybe the many camera crews that stood in the parking lot, mid-recording. Or the cops that tried to keep the reporters at bay. Whatever it was, it made both girls feel a little paranoid.
“I don’t want to take any chances. Whoever attacked those guys yesterday must be packing some serious muscle. Just keep your eyes open and be safe.” Spencer said earnestly, worried about the brunette.
“You too.” Ashley pleaded with the same conviction, locking eyes with the blonde.
They had hit the crossroad of the quad; Spencer had to go left, Ashley was going right. But at that exact moment, both girls turned towards one another, leaning forward as though they were going to share a kiss. They caught themselves, however, eyes wide in shock, and threw awkward goodbyes before hurrying off to their homeroom, both ducking their heads as the early morning’s events flashed in their minds. It’s a shame that in all of their embarrassment they both went the wrong way and had to cross each other’s path seconds later, both pointing out their actual direction while mumbling something about “wrong way,” before practically sprinting to homeroom.
“Hey.” Aiden whispered as Ashley took the seat next to his in the class.
“Hey.” She whispered back. The teacher at the front of the room was doing roll.
“What’s up with the clothes?” Aiden said through the side of his mouth so as not to call attention to himself by the irritable teacher. When Ashley walked into class, Aiden was momentarily surprised to see the brunette wearing a pair of comfortable jeans and a cute, hunter green sweater. It so wasn’t Ashley, although the color looked flawless on her.
“Huh?” Ashley looked down at her outfit and was suddenly unsure of herself. Spencer had left the clothes out for her after the brunette took her turn in the shower. No, it wouldn’t be something she’d pick out for herself, but she found it adorable that her ex best friend so willingly handed her clothes over. Especially because she was too terrified to go back to her house to get clothes of her own. Added bonus- she smelled like Spencer.
“What are you wearing?” The teacher finished roll and took a seat at her desk as the morning announcements took place. They were depressing. Memorial service announcements, moments of silence, safety precautions; Ashley chose not to listen.
“They’re Spencer’s. I’m staying at the Carlins’.” Ashley mumbled, hoping to skip over the questions. “You’re what?!” Aiden whispered loudly, causing several nearby students to look over at the two, getting Ashley to glare accordingly. The brunette filled her best friend in on what had happened at her place two nights ago. The boy was the perfect audience; gasping and shocked throughout the monologue and scolded his best friend for not telling him sooner. Especially the parts about almost hooking up with Spencer Carlin. But then he became appropriately concerned.
“Ash, you got to be careful. You should be at the Carlins’ every night before it gets dark, no messing around, this is serious!” Ashley waved the boy off, not needing to be told twice, and when the bell rang signaling first period the brunette sprang from her seat in a hurry to track Carmen down. Cause wherever Mendez would be, the blonde would surely follow. It wasn’t common knowledge, but the brunette only ran when she was being chased.
Or if she were chasing Spencer Carlin.
Spencer plopped into her seat in her first class next to her two best friends and dropped her head down on her desk. Both Madison and Sherry were staring at her as though they were waiting for their next line.
“What a day.” Spencer said as she expelled a long breath. Sure, it was only first period, but the blonde felt as though she’d already been through it all. Hiding one’s feelings is thoroughly exhausting. “So, Spence,” Madison started, turning slightly to get a better view of the blonde. Sherry inched her desk around a bit as well. “We were all thinking about the Halloween dance.”
Spencer quirked her eyebrow to show Madison that she was listening, even though she most certainly wasn’t. The three girls didn’t even bother to act like they were paying attention to their teacher. She watched as Madison open and closed her mouth, passionately discussing something that had Sherry nodding like a bobble head, while she thought about Ashley.
Did we almost kiss this morning? Why did it feel so natural to just lean in? Did she lean in too? What does that mean? Pft, she’s the gay one, she should be answering these questions. But come on, to be fair, I’m gay too. She’s just gayer. How is she gayer, Spence? Well…she’s been with girls. But that doesn’t make her gayer that just makes her more experienced. I’m the one that had to rub one out in the shower just to make it through the morning. Wow that was some dream. That was crazy how we woke up this morning! She was totally humping me back…maybe she did rub one out in the shower…holy fuck, what if Ashley was masturbating in my shower!!!
“So that makes sense right?” Spencer looked up only to find Madison and Sherry both waiting for a response. “I mean, because we’re best friends and all.” Madison’s expression was one of interest, not at all conniving. Spencer knew that face. But because Madison simply looked curious she didn’t see the harm in just agreeing instead of admitting she was too busy fantasizing about Ashley Davies to listen to her best friend.
“Uh, yeah. That sounds good.” Both Madison and Sherry nodded with sincere smiles. This confused Spencer, but again she didn’t want to ask Madison to repeat herself. “I’ll handle everything at lunch.” Her best friend informed her with a sympathetic smile as she reached out and gave the blonde’s hand a kind pat. Now Spencer was ridiculously confused; her eyebrows jumped to her hairline. What the hell had earned her that from Madison Duarte?!
Before she could make any stealthy inquires, the bell rang and Spencer jumped from her seat and took off like a bat out of hell. Carmen Mendez would be leaving the classroom several doors down from her own and she would follow her into their second period lit class. Now, there was no real reason to hurry, but if she booked it, she’d be able to see Ashley as she left class. And when it came to Ashley Davies, Spencer Carlin was a motherfucking track star.
Madison Duarte and Sherry Pena slowly stood from their desks and watched as the blonde took off. “Poor Spencer.” Madison sighed with real concern. “I think she left so quickly because she was going to cry.” Sherry said, placing her hand over her heart. What Spencer missed during her inner monologue and fantasy was that her friends, Madison, Sherry, Taylor, and Candace, all decided that they would be going stag to the Halloween dance in support for Spencer and her breakup with Garrett. All four girls were convinced that the blonde was having a difficult time coping because of her strange behavior those past few days. After all, Spencer’s breakup with Garrett had coincided with her renewed friendship with a certain brunette. Of course Spencer failed to mention that to her friends.
It’s a shame that Spencer didn’t listen during Madison’s explanation. She could have saved a few lives…

The Killer wasn’t happy. But not just because the plan wasn’t going accordingly, but for other reasons as well. The Killer shouldn’t have trusted anyone else with the plan, but help was needed, unfortunately, and even the Killer wasn’t so egotistical in thinking otherwise.
The Killer struggled to find the right words, cell phone gripped tightly, pacing back and forth. “I know what you’re up to.” The Killer finally said over the phone. “What…what do you mean?” The protégé mumbled back, suddenly very nervous. More nervous than usual when receiving a call from the Killer.
“Please do not insult me. I know everything. I’m not the only one watching you. I have ears and eyes everywhere. Stop what you are doing and stick with the plan. Do you hear me? Stick. With. The. Plan! If I so much as get wind that you are trying to…” The Killer took a moment to keep it together. Showing emotion was counterproductive.
“You’re slipping. Get it together. Remember the stories I told you?” The Killer waiting for the protégé to answer. “I…I remember.”
“I haven’t lied to you. You’ve seen the proof. I’m the only one you can trust.” The protégé apologized. “Good. Now, for your next mission. This will require some stealth. And some acting.”

It had been, without a doubt, the bloody best day of school for Ashley Davies in her eleven and a half years of attending. It kicked that day’s ass her mother surprised her and picked her up early to fly them to Disney World. It destroyed the day she got the old Principal fired after he told her she’d amount to nothing. It even trumped the day Regina Keller pulled her into the ladies locker room showers only to be surprised that Jillian McMillian was already waiting naked for the two. And that day gave a whole new meaning to the phrase “rinse and repeat!”
Yes. Today was defiantly the best day at school ever. Why?
Spencer Carlin.
Now, Spencer didn’t throw her into any more janitors’ closets. And she sure as hell didn’t pull her into the locker room, lathered and ready to go. It was a true mark of how much the brunette loved the blue-eyed girl that Spencer simply speaking to Ashley throughout the day made it so amazing.
The blonde would leave little notes in her locker, telling her each move Carmen had made. When Ashley walked by her in the hallway, Spencer would let their hands touch, passing a note to the brunette, asking her to meet at different locations on campus to catch up on information. And one time, when Spencer and Ashley were secretly whispering events that had taken place, someone walked by, probably not even noticing the pair and Spencer pulled Ashley into a tight hug to keep their identities unknown.
Ashley believed each and everything act Spencer had pulled throughout the day was ridiculously over the top and unnecessary. But she was not complaining and spent most of her class periods coming up with throwaway information that meant absolutely nothing to their cause; just an excuse to speak to Spencer; to be close to her.
Like Spencer, Ashley wasn’t sure if the blonde was going to kiss her when she leaned in earlier that morning before homeroom. And frankly, she was just as clueless as to why it felt so natural to do. Even when they were best of friends, comfortable with physical expression, they never kissed one another.
Oh God, and then there was that hug. She could have kissed whoever interrupted their “Top Secret Conversation” when they strolled by. Spencer wrapped her arms around Ashley neck and buried her face against the brunette’s chest, heart racing, breathing hard, and clinging for dear life.
Ashley still wondered what the hell Spencer was afraid of. They were two students, at school, taking a minute at their lunch period to talk. But instead of looking a gift horse in the mouth, Ashley just tightened her grip around the blonde’s waist and concealed her face in the blonde’s neck.
She too was breathing hard against Spencer’s skin, ready with the excuse of nerves just in case she was asked why her heart was pounding so loudly, why her hands were so sweaty. The intruder was halfway across campus before the two girls finally pulled apart slowly.
“Are they gone?” Spencer asked, barely prying herself off Ashley to look over the brunette’s shoulder. “Not sure.” Ashley answered, still buried against the blonde, unwilling to let go. Her voice was so thick with arousal that it actually could have been construed as fear. And she was afraid. Afraid that if she didn’t have Spencer Carlin soon she’d do something absolutely nuts like attack her until both ex best friends didn’t have an orgasm left to spare amongst them. She, unlike Spencer, didn’t “rub one out” that morning and her every nerve ending reminded her of that fact.
“We should go, this meeting has been compromised. Come up with another place, leave me a note in my locker, and we’ll discuss what we’re going to tell the Deputy later today.” Spencer said arms still around Ashley’s neck as she stared intently at the brown-eyed girl.
After Spencer hurriedly trotted down the corridor, looking left and right as though afraid she was being followed, Ashley shook her head in complete disbelief. The blonde was most defiantly enjoying this secret mission. And it didn’t surprise the brunette one bit. As children they used to play FBI, comparing notes and chasing down bad guys. Well Spencer enjoyed it; Ashley liked carrying a toy gun.
Whatever the reason, Ashley was happy to be along for the ride. And she already had their next meeting place in mind.
“You’re avoiding me.” Spencer turned around in her seat only to come face to face with her ex boyfriend. “Garrett, I’m trying to pay attention.” The blonde turned around and continued to pretend to be listening to her teacher.
“Since when are you friends with Ashley Davies?” Spencer froze. It was not good that Garrett saw her with the brunette. But which time did he see them? “Huh?” The blonde said, barely turning her head to reply.
“I saw you two walking across the quad this morning. What’s up with that? I thought you hated her?” Spencer rolled her eyes. She did not feel like dealing with this now. Class would be over in less than ten minutes and she was supposed to be meeting Ashley under the bleachers in the gym.
Instead of answering back, Spencer quickly scribbled down her retort and tossed the note over her shoulder for her ex. Not a moment later, the note was thrown back on her desk and the blonde opened it quietly to read what he had written. Under what she had said (Leave me alone, Garrett, we broke up, remember), was I’m begging you, please go to the Halloween dance with me?! Just TALK to me, please!
As the bell rang, Spencer balled up the note and tossed it into the trash, letting that be her answer. She dashed through the crowded hallways making it to the gym in record time. Ashley hadn’t even arrived yet, so Spencer got out her copybook and started making notes on what she and the brunette would tell the Deputy.
“We’re you followed?” Spencer nearly hit the top of the bleachers she was so startled. Ashley had to try hard to suppress her smirk; she really just asked the question to mess with the blonde. “I don’t think so.” Spencer replied seriously, looking around a little just to be sure. Again the brunette had to hide her smile. The blonde was so adorable.
“I was just jotting down some key points we have to make to the Deputy.” Ashley sat down close to Spencer, closer than needed, to read what her ex best friend had written. “I mention the dance list, how the names are alphabetical, the motive behind each murder, and the significance of the weapon. What else do I need?”
Spencer whispered, reading from her notes. As she looked up at Ashley, waiting for the brunette’s answer, she realized how close they were sitting. “Um…the flier.” Ashley whispered.
Their mouths were inches apart, their eyes locking as their breathing mixed. The gym was suddenly intensely quiet, and far too dark under the bleachers.
Ashley let her gaze race of the blonde’s face; completely tramped in the moment. Spencer licked her lips, forgetting she had asked a question as she too soaked in everything Ashley.
“You’re late.” Both girls’ heads jerked up at the sound of the impatient voice, effectively ruining the moment. “Sorry, I had to run to my locker.” The other voice apologized, defeated.
“That’s Garrett.” Spencer said through a gasp, suddenly petrified with being caught under the bleachers with Ashley Davies. “Shhhh.” The brunette warned, hissing in the blonde’s ear as her palm covered Spencer’s mouth. That was not helping Spencer at all.
Ashley kept her lips against Spencer’s ear, her hand still over the blonde’s mouth, her breasts against her ex best friend’s shoulder. It was far too dark under those bleachers for Spencer Carlin. In the dark she was ironically brave.
“Why did you want to meet in here?” The first voice asked, clearly still annoyed as he set something down. “I don’t know, so we won’t be seen together.” Garrett answered quietly.
Ashley and Spencer locked eyes; the blonde’s wide at what she was hearing. But when the brunette didn’t immediately look away, but instead, let her gaze drop to Spencer’s lips, Spencer felt her eyes get heavy with anticipation. She began breathing hard against the hand that still covered her mouth; her heart picked up and took off like it was an Apollo spaceship.
Ashley’s eyes found Spencer’s again, not even bothering to listening to the two boys. She felt like she was in the middle of some erotic game of hide-and-go-seek.
“You’re ridiculous. We can’t get anything done in here!” There was a sound of a bag being unzipped. “Here’s the assignment. Don’t mess it up.” Spencer finally looked away from Ashley at the remark, and seconds later there was the unmistakable sound of the gym door closing.
“Fucking ridiculous. I’ll give you ridiculous.” Garrett grunted before he bounced a basketball a few times and took a shot. The sound reverberated against the headboard as Ashley leaned her head against Spencer’s, taking in her scent and closing her eyes because of their proximity.
Then, the two girls practically flew apart at the sound of Garrett’s frustrated yell before he threw the ball hard to parts unknown. Both Spencer and Ashley winced when the ball bounced against the bleachers, and then the sound of the gym door slamming made them jump again.
“What the hell was that about?!” Ashley swore quietly as she placed a hand over her heart. Spencer silently shook her head, unsure of what she just heard but suddenly questioned what she knew about her ex. He sounded scared.
“Did you recognize the other voice?” Ashley whispered quietly, still afraid of being overheard. Again, Spencer only shook her head. “Ash?”
“Hmm?” Ashley asked, finally calming down enough to remember that she was still alone under the dark bleachers with Spencer Carlin.
“Ash, Garrett and I broke up a few days ago.” Spencer started, speaking slowly as she raced to catch up with her brain. Ashley nodded once, she already knew this. Aiden had told her the day after it happened, oh-so-casually. He of course knew that the brunette would be psyched. She was glad that he had to get off the phone so she could whoop loudly and do a little happy dance.
“Ash.” Spencer repeated, trying to find her voice. “Garrett keeps asking me to go to the Halloween Dance. He’s been, like, really weird about it. Persistent. And sort of…scary.” Ashley swallowed hard, trying to force saliva down her suddenly dry throat.
“What are you saying, Spence?” The bell sounded in the hallway; they had missed a whole class period.
“I’m saying we should probably mention Garrett to the Deputy.” Spencer said slowly, not noticing she was shaking. “I’m saying we should probably blow off the rest school.”
Ashley Davies didn’t need to be told twice.
Halloween Haven was a year-round tradition of Tumbull County, not just some popup store that lasted two months before it moved its location the year after. If you like Halloween, you’d love Halloween Haven.
The huge, one room store was lit only by plastic, electrical candles that sat on antic sconces around the walls. Halloween music played, once the first day of fall hit, twenty-four-seven. A fog machine met you at the entrance along with two life-sized models of Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers.
The store had, by far, the best selection of scary movies, taking up a full wall in the back. In fact, it had pretty much every movie for sale that included Halloween in it; scary or not.
During its off-season, Halloween Haven earned its money by selling costumes to surrounding schools for their productions, birthday paraphernalia, soft-core gag gifts and shot glasses. But when fall hit, Halloween Haven boasted the most interesting, creative, and extensive costumes on this side of the hemisphere.
Halloween Haven used to be Ashley Davies’ haven. She hadn’t stepped foot in the store in almost four years.
The store was packed with young kids, running excitedly throughout the many aisles, dragging their parents along with them. There were a few older clientele, but no one either girl recognized.
“Okay, so I was thinking we should go for something inconspicuous, not over the top. Something in a nice shag wig, perhaps blonde for you, brunette for me. You should definitely wear glasses. Oh! I should get those cool contact lenses that change your eye color! I wonder if we should pick up some new clothes, you know, not something so us. You could get away with wearing my clothes, though, but maybe I should wear something a little racier. Do you think we should test out our disguises before we start following Carmen, you know, walk around town? Or maybe we should go to school tomorrow in our disguises!” Spencer looked at Ashley with a wide smile and big eyes; she was clearly having a ball.
And Ashley just stood thing, arms full of wigs and other costumes and camouflages, staring blankly at the blonde’s enthusiasm.
“Can I just remind you that we’re doing this to save a person’s life?” Spencer’s face quickly crumbled as she ducked her head, tears forming in her eyes. Ashley mentally kicked herself. Being in the store had put her on the edge, reliving the last time she was there; with her father.
She didn’t want to take it out on Spencer though, and to be fair, it could be kind of fun. And besides, if this got Spencer to dress racier, well that was just fine by Ashley.
“I think I’m leaning towards the blonde pixy wig, dark framed glasses, and another one of your adorable sweaters.” As Spencer looked up, Ashley saw a small light shining in her eyes; the brunette had covered her ass well and said the right thing.
“That sounds perfect! Now how about me? Maybe I’ll go for the Cleopatra wig!” Ashley chuckled softly as the blonde raced across the store to retrieve the long, raven hairpiece.
As Spencer tried on wig after wig, getting the opinion of every customer and sales assistant, Ashley fingered the different costumes available. She hadn’t dressed up since before high school and she didn’t exactly know why she was looking, but for the first time in a long time the brunette was curious.
She was still very much against going to King High’s Halloween dance, for the obvious reasons, but maybe she could dress up and give out candy on the actual day. Maybe Spencer would help before the dance.
“Are you going to Erin Klienschmidt’s Halloween party tomorrow night?” Ashley jumped a little at the sound of Spencer’s voice. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.” But Ashley wasn’t listening. As soon as she turned to look at Spencer, a long rumble of a laugh erupted deep from within.
There was Spencer Carlin, cheerleader, event’s organizer, and model student dressed in a short, spiky, dark chestnut wig. “Stop laughing.” Spencer said with a smile as she straightened the wig out in front of a mirror. “I look like a dude.” The blonde said with a laugh. “Yeah, a hot dude.” Ashley said though chuckles before she could stop herself.
In the mirror, Spencer quirked her eyebrow at Ashley and watched as the brunette realized what she had said. She blushed accordingly. “What’s up with the wig?” Ashley asked, turning to face the costumes again as she tried to recover and hoped the blush would fade.
“Halloween’s all about being something you’re not, so I figured I try this on for size. I’ll get some contact lenses and all I’ll need are some of Glen’s clothes.
It’s perfect.” Ashley whipped around, frowning deeply. “What about wearing something racier?” The brunette inwardly cringed. She’d need to learn to stop and think before she spoke to the blonde from now on. But Spencer just smiled brightly, enjoying the feeling of Ashley eyes on her, of Ashley in her clothes.
I’m liking this plan more and more. Spencer thought, now letting her eyes run the length of Ashley’s body. She looks so freaking sexy in my clothes. I love that green on her, I always have.
“This is better. And warmer too. It’s cold out there.” That day wasn’t so bad, however. The weather channel was predicting more fall-like temperatures, low sixties and partly cloudy. The air was taking a crisper approach, not so humid. The smell of snow was finally out of the air. For now anyway. The trend wouldn’t last long.
“This way you can keep wearing my clothes.” Spencer informed the still frowning brunette as she made her way over to the different eye contacts. “I think I’m going with brown.” Ashley frowned even deeper. She didn’t like the idea of not seeing Spencer’s eyes.
When all was said and done, the girls walked out of Halloween Haven with four different wigs, three sets of colored contacts, some fake facial hair for the eager blonde, and two full bags of DVD’s that Ashley convinced Spencer were of the upmost importance she own.
Not like Spencer minded. Buying the scary/Halloween movies was a must because of the smile on Ashley’s face.
“Fine!” Spencer conceded, smirking as she watched Ashley jump up and down like a two year old and immediately started pull DVD after DVD into her arms.
“We are so having a movie marathon!” Ashley cheered as Spencer folded her arms across her chest, just watching the brunette. “Oh no, I’m not watching that crap.” Spencer told her lightly, laughing a little at the idea. She thought Ashley would turn around and pout. Beg, plead, and barter to get her way. Of course the blonde would give in, she wanted to give in to the brunette for years. But instead of Ashley putting up a fight, her shoulders slumped, not facing the blonde.
“I understand.” Spencer was not prepared for the aftermath of her feelings. Immediately her stomach clenched tightly and wave after wave of guilt and disappointment rained down on her. She bit her lip as she watched how her ex best friend now slowly pulled movies from the shelves, read the backs, before replacing them. The enthusiasm was gone. The excitement was gone.
As Spencer watched she wondered when this changed had happened; when Ashley became so easily disappointed without a fight. It most likely started with the death of her father and only expanded with the abandonment of her mother and the blonde.
Spencer silently reeled at the epiphany. A hand covered her face as her eyes closed tightly. “I mean,” Spencer started, trying to fix this situation. “Your taste sucks, so why should I even bother.” She uncovered her face as Ashley slowly turned around with a smirk that made the blonde deeply relieved and inwardly smolder. “We’ll see about that.” The excitement was back. Spencer licked her lips and smiled, blushing as she looked down before she continued to watch the brunette find movies for them to watch later. Spencer mentally reminded herself to pick up some diapers in preparation for their scary movie marathon.
It’s truly amazing how two people can love each other so much and have no idea.

“Arthur, I don’t know what to tell you. We’ve went back to the house and nothing was there. We didn’t pick up any prints, not a maggot was found, and we went by O’Douls garage and her car’s fine; just a flat. Without anything to analyze we don’t really have anything to go on.” Arthur nodded along to Deputy O’Connell’s words. He shot Spencer and Ashley a sympathetic smile as he draped an arm around his daughter’s shoulders.
“Well thank you for your time, Jack. I wished there was something more, though.”
“Me too, Arthur. I’m sorry Ashley. There’s a lot going on around here as you know, but I’ll make sure I have a car drive by your place every once and a while just to make sure.”
“Thanks, Deputy O’Connell.” Ashley muttered, unnerved by the lack of evidence. The tall man slowly stood and let his back crack as he looked around the busy station. “If that’s it, Arthur, I need to start making some calls. We get a million calls a day about the so called ‘King High Killer.’” Spencer and Ashley exchanged a glance, communicating silently about what they needed to say to the Deputy.
“Actually, Deputy, Ashley and I wanted to share some things with you, if that’s okay?” O’Connell gave Arthur a curious look before he turned back to the two girls. “Okay, Spencer, what do you got for me?” The Deputy sat back down as Spencer slowly drew out her notebook. She was more than a little nervous but the Deputy seemed nice enough.
“Well, um…Ashley and I…I mean…we’ve been talking…”
“Deputy O’Connell, Spencer and I have reason to believe that the Killer is targeting students at King because he feels that they are immoral. We also have reason to believe that he picks his targets based on whether or not they’re attending the school’s Halloween dance. As you can see,” Ashley slowly took the notebook from the blonde’s shaking hands, not meeting her eye, so she missed the look of admiration on Spencer’s face. “There seems to be a trend here.” Ashley folded out the list of students for the Deputy to see as she waited for his reaction, either he’d believe them or he wouldn’t; the former being the most likely.
Again the Deputy glanced at Arthur who looked just as curious as O’Connell did. “Interesting.” He mumbled. He gave the paper a once over before he pushed it aside. “Altiere.” He called out over his shoulder to the rookie cop a few desks away.
Tom jumped to his feet and quickly made his way over to the foursome. “What’s up, Jack?” Deputy Altiere asked, nodding once to Arthur before his eyes lingered over the faces of Ashley and Spencer. “Ms. Carlin and Ms. Davies have an interesting theory. Why don’t you take a seat and listen to them for a moment while Arthur and I have a little chat?” Altiere nodded and took a seat.
“I drove by the diner today, Arthur. How long you keeping it closed for?” The two men walked away from the desk, not once looking back.
Ten minutes later Ashley, Spencer, and Arthur were making their way out of the station. Ashley didn’t look pleased as she ducked her head, hands in her pockets, with a frown on her face. “At least we got to say what we needed to.” Spencer tried to sooth, but Ashley just rolled her eyes. “He didn’t care, he was just doing your dad a favor.” Ashley said as she kicked at a clump of snow that was melting from the sunny day.
“Girls, you’re coming right home, correct?” Ashley kept her head down as she waited for Spencer to unlock her car door. “Um…well…Ash and I had some stuff to do, but we won’t be home late.” She told her father who was standing at his car one space over. “Please don’t be late, and stay in touch.”
“Okay dad, see you later for sure.” The blonde said with a serious expression.
“For sure, kiddo.” Ashley smiled at the routine. In living with the Carlins, Ashley quickly became aware that Spencer was impossibly anal about saying those words with her family. Whether they were just going to the store or leaving the room, she made sure to say it, and made double sure they said it back.
It was only a ten minute drive to the Mendez house from the station, but it felt longer for the two girls. It wasn’t even five yet and it was already getting dark. Carmen’s car sat in the driveway of the rundown house as Spencer parked the car.
What to talk about, what to talk about…? Spencer thought as she looked outside the driver’s side window. They sat in near silence, letting the soft volume of the radio fill the quiet, for over an hour.
“We should probably get into our disguises.” The blonde finally said quietly. They had stopped home before going to the station and all their supplies was still in the backseat. “This is ridiculous.” Ashley muttered. Spencer turned to face her with a frown.
“What is?” She softly questioned, wishing she could reach out and take the brunette’s hand. She’d been so sad ever since the Halloween store and the blonde was realizing how much she hated a sad Ashley.
“What are we going to do, Spence? What are we doing here? What if we’re right, okay?” Ashley started, turning a little to face her. “What if Carmen is next. So we follow her, right, and then what? The Killer attacks her, finds us, and we die too?” Ashley challenged, not understanding why they were there, putting themselves in harm’s way. Putting Spencer in harm’s way. Ashley knew she was on the Killer’s list. The vandalism at her house proved that. And if they were right about their theory, Ashley was very out in Tumbull County and not going to the Halloween dance. What chance did she have? But Spencer? There was no reason that she should be putting herself through this.
“Ash…”
“No, Spence! This is crazy! We could get hurt. You could get hurt! I can’t go along with this knowing that! And I know that you love all this spy crap, but Spencer, I can’t let anything happen to you and if that means that something may happen to Carmen or someone else because of that, then I’ll just have to deal with it! I can’t let you go through with this!”
Spencer was taken aback at Ashley’s words and the passion behind them. She doesn’t want to see me get hurt. She cares about me.
This time Spencer didn’t hesitate to take Ashley’s hand, holding it between her own.
“Ash…”
“No, Spence, we should go home right now!” The brunette was immediately affected by the blonde holding her hand, but she fought through the feeling, looking out the window instead, and held her ground.
“Ashley.” Spencer said firmly, getting the other girl to look at her. “I’m tired…”
“Then go to bed!” Spencer chuckled softly as the corners of her mouth twitched. “I’m tired of doing nothing.” Ashley looked into Spencer’s eyes and saw what she meant. “I can’t just sit by and wait for news about another death.” The blonde said seriously, gripping Ashley’s hand a little tighter. “We could be so completely wrong about everything. We could be so completely off-track and this whole thing could be a massive waste of time. But I got to do something. I’m tired of people dying. I’m tired of pretending that I don’t care. I’m tired of not admitting…” Spencer trailed off as the intensity between the two girls reached a peak. She almost told Ashley her feelings and she wasn’t sure if she was ready to.
Spencer looked down at her lap, where she held Ashley’s hand. She watched as the brunette’s thumb slowly started to rub circles against her skin. And when she looked up, she thought she saw realization in those deep brown eyes. Did Ashley know? Did she feel it too?
“Okay.” Ashley whispered, turning her hand so that now she was holding the blonde’s. “Yeah?” Spencer said just as quietly as she slowly looked up to meet Ashley’s eyes. “I…I don’t want to do nothing anymore either. I want to…even if it’s…I’m just…” Ashley’s gaze raced over the blonde’s face as she tried to find the right words. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to comfort Spencer, admit her feelings, or just leap forward and capture her soft lips in a sultry kiss.
The blonde held her breath as she waited, loving the sensation of Ashley holding her hand
“Let’s just get in our disguises.” Ashley said as she finally broke all contact. It was getting harder and harder for her to not attack her ex best friend and she wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or not.
On the one hand, she was tired of playing games; wondering if Spencer returned her feelings. On the other hand, she was enjoying being around the blonde and didn’t want to do anything to mess that up. Because of the current climate of the community she didn’t want to risk a moment away from Spencer; dreading it could be her last. So she swallowed hard and reached around into the backseat to get their supplies.
“Is my wig on straight?”
“How do people get contact lenses in?!”
“You wear way too much cotton, Spence.”
“Is my facial hair crazy?”
“Are wigs supposed to be this hot and itchy?”
“What am I going to strap my boobs down with?”
It took the girls nearly an hour to get into their disguises. It probably would have taken them less time if they weren’t getting ready in a dark car, but they couldn’t run the risk of doing it at the Carlins’.
When it came time to change, they took turns in the backseat. Spencer went first, unsure if she should try and hurry out of her clothes and into her brother’s or take her time to torment the brunette in the front seat. Fast or slow, it was still torment for Ashley.
The brunette rocked back and forth in the passenger’s seat, biting her thumb nail, as she commanded herself not to look into the review or the side mirrors. She bit her lip hard and fidgeted as she waited for Spencer to tell her she was done.
She could just imagine the blonde slowly pulling her long-sleeved blue shirt over her head, exposing her bra. Dragging her jeans down leisurely, sprawled out in the backseat. It occurred to Ashley, about a million times in those few minutes, that turning around and propelling herself into the backseat would not be a wise move, but it would be more than worth it.
Spencer was examining her facial hair in her vanity mirror when it was Ashley’s turn. It honestly started out innocent; just smoothing her soul patch and soft mustache. But when she caught a glimpse of Ashley wiggling out of her jeans, she couldn’t help but inch the mirror up as stealthily as she could.
“Do you even think Mendez will go out tonight?” Ashley asked as she sat half naked in the backseat, routing around the plastic bag of clothes she got from Spencer. “Uh…I don’t know.” The blonde breathed out as her eyes roamed over the brunette’s bare legs.
“Well she better.” Ashley mumbled, completely unaware that she was being watched. “Yeah.” Spencer whispered back, not really processing a word Ashley had said.
When the brunette finally found a skirt she thought she could pull off, she looked up briefly to see what Spencer was doing. But the blonde was ready, still stroking her fake facial hair with the pretense that she wasn’t ogling her ex best friend.
When she knew she was safe, Ashley pulled off her sweater and discarded it as she took out a few polos Spencer had given her. She slightly frowned as she looked at them, thinking the blonde could get away with them so much better then she could. Her choices were green, green, and green and she wasn’t sure why. She was almost certain she had never seen any of the shirts on the girl in the front seat, yet there they were.
“You own a lot of green.” Ashley said as she went for the most low-cut of the bunch; naturally. In truth, the sweater she lent to Ashley early that day and the three polos in the backseat were the only green shirts the blonde owned. But with her dark hair, gorgeous brown eyes, and flawless, tanned skin, Ashley looked so incredibly sexy in green; to Spencer it was a no-brainer.
“Uh huh.” Was the blonde’s only reply as she snaked her gaze up the brunette’s naked torso. She imagined that Ashley had an amazing body, she fantasized about it constantly. But she wasn’t prepared for just how perfect it was and the flood that hit her between her thighs.
“I feel ridiculous.” Ashley said as she crawled into the front seat, now fully dressed. Spencer slapped the vanity mirror closed as she cleared her throat and silently thanked the darkness; her face was a little more than flushed.
“You look…” Spencer trailed her eyes up Ashley’s bare legs, to her short white skirt, over the green, low-cut polo, until she met Ashley’s waiting stare. “Good. You look good.” She cleared her throat again, forcing herself to look away. “You don’t think I look ridiculous in this wig?” Ashley asked skeptically. Spencer smiled as she looked back, closing one eye to take in the brunette’s appearance. “Just the right amount of ridiculous.” The two girls shared a laugh as Ashley ran her fingers through her blonde wig. “I’m so you right now.”
“Please, like you could pull-off me.”
“Maybe not, but you’re doing a wicked job pulling off Glen right now.” Ashley said with a smirk. The blonde snorted and rolled her eyes. “Please, I’m so much hotter than him! And hello, brown hair, brown eyes, so not Glen. And besides, Glen can’t grow facial hair to save his life.” Both girls laughed a little more.
“Is my facial hair okay?” Spencer asked nervously, again checking herself in the mirror. “Hold on, let…me…just…” Ashley scooted over in her seat closer to the blonde. Her thumb lightly brushed over Spencer’s soul patch, smoothing it out. The blonde held her breath; they were inches apart, as she let the sensation of Ashley soft touch overwhelm her.
Their eyes locked as the brunette ran her fingers through Spencer’s wig, spiking the hair up a little more and getting it to lie flat in other areas. “There. Perfect.” Ashley whispered, staring deeply into Spencer’s eyes. “You too.” Spencer whispered as her eyes dropped down to Ashley’s long legs before she looked back into deep, brown eyes. “I look okay as a blonde?” Spencer just nodded slowly as Ashley continued to run her hands through Spencer’s hair.
“I don’t like you with contacts.” Spencer searched Ashley’s eyes, trying to understand the comment. “Do I make a hot boy?” She meant to joke; she meant to lighten the mood. But instead she just made it more intense with her unsure tone and the quivering in her voice.
“The first guy I ever thought was hot.” Ashley said, also berating herself for the seriousness of her tenor.
“Where are you going?!”
“Out!” Spencer and Ashley broke contact and turned their heads to the sound of the voices. Carmen’s mother was standing in the doorway of the small house, silhouetted by the light coming within, while Carmen made her way to her beat-up car.
“When will you be back?!”
“Later!” Was Carmen’s dismissive retort.
“Showtime.” Ashley said as Carmen quickly sent her car in reverse and sped down the street. “Here we go.”
Tumbull County is only so big, so when Carmen drove in the direction of the center of town, both girls knew where she was headed.
It was oddly liberating for both Spencer and Ashley as they strolled into the packed club. Instead of feeling insecure with their disguises, they felt reckless. Ashley had slipped on a pair of black framed glasses before they left the car, and with the change of clothes, wigs, and Spencer’s facial hair, they looked nothing like they normally did. The contact lenses were what really changed Spencer’s appearance. She was known for her eyes.
Despite being incognito, however, both girls kept a safe distance from Carmen Mendez. They kept their eyes peeled looking for anyone suspicious as the approached the opposite side of the bar the raven-haired girl occupied. They watched as Carmen ordered a drink and took a seat, casually looking around the club as though she were meeting someone.
“What should we do?” Spencer asked loudly as her eyes roamed over the sea of people on the dance floor. So far she didn’t see anyone she knew. “I guess just sit here and wait. You want a drink?” Ashley shouted back, turning to look at the girl beside her. Even in drag Spencer was still breathtaking.
“Uh, sure. Couldn’t hurt.” It was early, only a little after seven and they didn’t know how much time they had to kill.
Spencer was momentarily surprised when the bartender’s gaze passed right over her when she signaled him down. “That was rude.” The blonde…well, technically brunette, scoffed. Ashley chuckled and raised her hand getting the bartender’s attention.
“What will it be, sexy?” He leered at her, getting Ashley to quirk and indignant eyebrow, and Spencer to sneer at the man. Ashley looked over at Spencer to see what she wanted. “Vodka and cranberry is fine.” Spencer said, her eyes bearing into the guys head as he stared at Ashley with a flirty smile. “And for the beautiful blonde?” He smirked. Ashley snorted at the comment, never hearing it before. “I’ll take the same.” He flashed her a smile before he turned and went to work.
“What a dick.” Spencer mumbled. She wasn’t sure if she was more annoyed by being blatantly ignored or the fact that he was clearly hitting on Ashley. “Spence, you’re a guy now. You have to get used to people treating you like you’re not important.” Ashley said with a playful smile that Spencer easily returned.
“Here you go.” The bartender said, sliding their drinks over to them, giving Ashley another smile. “That will be six fifty.” The bartender said to Spencer with a jerk of his chin, eyes still trained on Ashley. “Yours is on the house.” Ashley did her best not to crack up at Spencer’s expression. She looked livid. Someone distracted the bartender and when he turned away, Ashley finally laughed.
Both girls remained quiet as they quickly drank their vodka, looking around the club every once and awhile, while keeping Carmen in their sights. She was still alone on the other side of the bar, checking her phone every so often.
The drinks were strong, and one became two, and two became three before the bartender approached them again. “So sweetheart, do I get a name?” He asked, leaning over the bar meeting Ashley’s gaze. “Candy.” Ashley said with a false sweet voice as she stuck her hand out of the bartender to take. Spencer scoffed at Ashley’s new name. “Sweet like the name suggests.” Spencer rolled her eyes at the comment and took another sip of her drink.
“So is this your boyfriend?” He asked, jerking his chin again in Spencer’s direction. The blonde found her opening and went for it. “As a matter of fact, I am. So why don’t you just back off and make our drinks.” Spencer jeered as she moved her stool closer to Ashley and put her arm around the brunette’s waist.
Ashley was shocked by the girl’s possessiveness and was more than pleased to lean into her touch, resting her head on the blonde’s shoulder. “Yep, sorry.” She said to the bartender, taking Spencer’s hand in her own. “He’s my man.” The bartender snorted. “He looks about twelve.”
Spencer leaned forward, sneering at the bartender. “And funny how she’s with me and not you.” Ashley’s eyes widened at the aggressiveness in Spencer’s voice and the way the blonde more securely pulled the brunette to her. She had never, ever, not once seen Spencer this way. And it was making her hot. It was making her insanely wet.
“Come on, Candy, let’s dance.” Spencer said, turning her gaze to the brunette as she seductively pulled Ashley to her feet and guided her to the dance floor, hand in her own. Again, Ashley was shocked. Assertive Spencer was a sexy Spencer!
She suddenly felt like a love-sick school girl being taken by her man as the blonde pulled Ashley close to her body, placing her hands on the brunette’s hips. She easily tangled her arms around Spencer’s shoulders as they swayed to the music, eyes still trained on the other.
It was amazing how much braver both girls felt in their disguises; like they were simply playing a part. What they were really doing is allowing themselves to fall into the roles they’ve always dreamed of; Spencer comfortable in her own skin and Ashley allowing herself to be taken care of.
Dressed in Spencer’s clothes, Ashley was able to be vulnerable, a trait that seemed to go with the clothing. As a guy, Spencer didn’t feel self-conscience holding the brunette, flirting with her, dancing like they were dancing. Because boy, were they dancing close. The alcohol only spurred them on.
Later, Spencer would use testosterone as her excuse for spinning Ashley around and pressing a hand on her back to guide her into bending over. She licked her lips at the sight of the brunette’s ass in the short skirt. Later, Ashley would blame the blonde hair for why she willingly allowed herself to be put in the position before she grinded her ass into the blonde’s crotch; only to be surprised that her ex best friend was packing.
Ashley spun around, wide-eyed to find a smirking Spencer. The brunette didn’t see her purchase the dildo, but Spencer grabbed it thinking it would add to outside perception and even add to her own.
The smirk fell from the blonde’s face when she saw those brown eyes darken. She visibly gulped as Ashley slipped her thigh in between Spencer’s and pushed harder against her. Ashley felt the intruder and buried her face into Spencer’s neck as a result, fighting back a moan. It was a delicious feeling, knowing that it was there, that it was pressing hard on all the rights spots, and that it was Spencer’s.
Ashley raked her nails up Spencer’s bare neck, her lips against the blonde’s skin, as Spencer’s hands pressed into the small of the brunette’s back, tantalizingly close to Ashley’s ass.
Neither could believe that it was happening.
It was at this point that Spencer looked up to see the bartender’s eyes on the pair. With a wink and a smirk to the guy, the blonde whispered huskily in Ashley’s ear, “Go with it.” Before she dipped her hands down to run smoothly over the girl’s butt.
“Fuuuuuck.” Ashley hissed, digging her nails deeper into Spencer’s neck, gripping her hair harder as she softly bit the skin her mouth was against. Spencer’s eyes slammed shut at the pleasure, cupping and kneading the brunette’s ass while she pressed her into her more desperately.
Spencer was beside herself. She had her hands firmly placed on Ashley’s ass!
Ashley moaned against Spencer’s skin as her mouth softly kissed the blonde’s exposed neck. Spencer felt so numb with want she wasn’t entirely sure if her ex best friend and the object of her desire was even really kissing her neck or not. The idea that she was, however, made Spencer grind harder into her.
Spencer’s hopes were confirmed when she felt Ashley’s wet tongue lick the length of her neck. She buried herself deeper into Ashley’s shoulder at the sensation as they both rocked harder into one another.
They had no idea what song was being blasted around the club. They could have been completely off rhythm. They didn’t care. They were setting their own pace that had them both breathing heavy and on the edge of passion, blindly falling without any thought to consequences.
They tightened their grip around one another, slowly rotating their hips as they got closer and closer to their peak. Ashley bit hard into Spencer’s neck, getting her to shudder and moan. Her eyes snapped open just as she saw Carmen leaving the club with Jonica, Shasha, and Lilly in her wake.
“Fuck.” Spencer mumbled, halting all movements as she watched the four leave. “Don’t stop.” Ashley quivered out, losing all control and not caring. She kept grinding into Spencer, willing the girl to move along with her.
For a long moment the blonde contemplated not speaking up; letting the four girls leave and continuing the dance she and Ashley had begun long ago. But suddenly Ashley’s words from early passed through her mind. “Can I just remind you that we’re doing this to save a person’s life”
“They’re leaving.” Spencer whispered in Ashley’s ear in a miserable tone. The brunette narrowed her eyes and whipped her head around just in time to see the four girls exit the club. “Fuck.” She mumbled to herself, thoroughly depressed that they would have to stop.
She turned back to find Spencer already watching her. “I guess we should go too.” Ashley was pleased to see that Spencer was just as depressed as she was. She bit her lip and nodded. “I guess.” She whispered, letting her gaze drop to the blonde’s lips, licking her own before she looked back up into Spencer’s eyes.
With one long, deep breath, Spencer grabbed Ashley’s hand and quickly walked across the dance floor towards the exit.
“Her car’s still here.” Ashley said, searching the parking lot for any sign of the foursome. “Maybe they took one of the other girls’ cars.” Spencer answered, her eyes also sweeping over the scene.
“No look. That’s Jonica’s piece of shit and that’s Shasa’s slut-mobile.” Spencer couldn’t help but chuckle, pleased that she still had Ashley’s hand in her own. “Alright, so where did they go?” The two quickly made their way down the steps and into their parking lot, eyes searching. They were getting a lot of glances from different teens around them; they made quite a hot couple.
“Excuse me. Is there anything else to do around here besides the club?” Ashley asked a group of guys, leaning against a truck. The tallest kid took in the sight of the two holding hands before he looked back to Ashley. “Yeah, there’s a hayride around the corner with a corn maze.” He looked as though he wanted to say something else to the brunette, but one glance at the stoic Spencer and he kept his mouth shut.
Spencer looked at each guy, daring them to hit on the girl next to her, but they all kept quiet. “Okay, thanks.” Ashley pulled Spencer away from the guys, not noticing how she was silently challenging them. “My guess is that’s where they’re headed. You okay with going? Spence? Spencer?”
“Huh?” Spencer was lost in her own little world. She just staked her claim on her ex best friend, on Ashley Davies, and no one challenged it. It was nice. It felt better than nice. It was such a euphoric feeling that she was drowning in. She suddenly imagined a world where Ashley was her girl. That every single person at King High knew that Ashley belonged to her and they watched on, envious, as Spencer pulled Ashley into her arms in the middle of the quad.
“Carmen and them are most likely going to the hayride and corn maze around the corner. Are you okay with that?” Ashley asked again with concern. She knew how scared the blonde could get. She watched as fear washed over her ex best friend’s face and she couldn’t help but smile softly.
I guess I get to be the man now. Ashley thought with a smirk, as she lightly swung their arms back and forth, hands still intertwined. And then she thought about what was in the blonde’s jeans at that precise moment and her smirk grew. Maybe she can be the man for a little longer. A chill ran down Ashley’s spine at the sexual thought.
“Are you cold? Let me get my jacket for you out of the car before we go.” Without waiting for an answer, Spencer turned and sprinted towards her car while Ashley swooned on the spot. The blonde came back, panting slightly, as she helped Ashley into her coat. “What about you?” Ashley asked, allowing Spencer to fix her long, blonde hair out of the coat. “Won’t you be cold?” Spencer bit her lip as she let her fingers play with the edges of the wig, wishing it was really Ashley’s hair. “Well…” She started, unsure of how to answer.
“Don’t worry, stud, I’ll keep you warm.” Ashley purred as she begun to walk backwards, locking her eyes with Spencer’s as she made her way towards where the boys indicated the hayride would be.
Spencer was frozen where she stood as a small moan rumbled deep within. Ashley Davies was definitely flirting with me. Holy shit! Holy shit! God she is so sexy! What am I doing still standing here?! Move you idiot!
The blonde practically ran to catch up with the brunette, easily taking her hands in her own as she flashed her a soft smile and Ashley returned with a vengeance. She made her every intention known with her smirk as her eyes darkened and became lidded.
The night was cool yet held an air of excitement to it as the two girls approached the entrance declaring a haunted hayride and corn maze. They saw their targets in line for tickets and grinned at one another as they squeezed hands.
It was a big night for the two. But neither could know what lie ahead. Neither could know that the Killer was there, with the protégée, waiting for their next targets. Awaiting for their next victims to enter the corn maze, weapons in hand, smiles on their faces.
