Bette and Tina are baby dykes in high school. Both Tina and Bette are out with their friends except Tina wasn’t out with her parents. She wasn’t sure how’d they’d react thus she was waiting for a good time to come out to them.  They were under the impression that they are best friends. Bette is spending the night at Tina’s as they are studying for an assignment the next day.

Tina is asleep and is moved over to the side of the bed as she wanted to make sure when Bette came over she’d have enough room to sleep beside her. Bette has dropped by home to pick up an overnight bag and her laptop.

“Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Kennard for letting me spend the night. I’ll just go right up to Tina.” Bette quietly climbed the stairs to Tina’s bedroom on the other end of the hall away from Tina’s parents. She opened the door and found Tina sleeping.

She carefully pulled the covers over and joined Tina lying on her back. This was the very first time she was spending the night over and found it odd that Tina wasn’t awake to see her in. Bette turned to her side held her head up with one arm and glanced down at Tina just watching and reliving the good times she had with her Tina.

They had met in class at school and then again on both their first days at a local ice cream parlor as part time scoopers. It was a relatively easy job and with school they were able to do both at the same time. They became the best of friends almost overnight and lovers a few months into their relationship.  Bette and Tina couldn’t keep their hands to themselves and had taken each other in a bathroom stall. Bette had been so upset with herself that she hadn’t been able to give Tina her first time in a more proper setting, specifically on a bed. Tina had told her that it was fine as long as they loved each other, which was all that mattered.

Bette thought that maybe tonight, tonight was the night she’d give Tina a proper ‘first time.’
