    Short story

Bette sat at the table in the dining room. She had just finished eating lunch that she had ordered from the Planet, Cobb salad her favorite. Tina had passed on lunch because she hadn’t been feeling well since the night before, she’d been vomiting and constipated. They had celebrated their fourth anniversary as a couple. Two years dating, two years since they had gotten married.

Their anniversary had gone amazingly well prior to Tina’s sudden illness. Tina had waked her up with breakfast in bed together with an incredible early morning love making. The blonde had been insatiable even. She had enjoyed herself to point where she had had difficulty walking. Bette got hot just by the memory.

At the restaurant where they had had their first date all those years ago and had proposed, she had given her wife a beautifully framed poem. It read

I love you twice as much today

    Than yesterday and

Only half as much as tomorrow.

The moment Bette had seen that poem in the gift shop a few weeks earlier she knew it was perfect. It described her feelings perfectly for her wife, best friend and soon to be mother of her children. When they had started dating they planned to have a houseful of children running around. Every day she fell a little more in love with Tina and she wanted the blonde to know how much she meant to her.

Whenever they fought, Bette always made sure the sun didn’t set with them mad at each other and it would definitely rise to her whispering softy into her wife’s ear “I love you”

Tina’s stomach ache had come about after she had eaten her dinner which from the looks of it deserved to be fed to a dog instead of a human being. She had expressed her views about the food “damn” she couldn’t even remember what the name was. Tina had told her it was good to try new things. Bet she isn’t feeling that way right now Bette thought chuckling to herself. Bette it wasn’t funny but she couldn’t help finding the humor in it. Getting serious, she had been disappointed that they hadn’t been able to make love when they got home but she was so filing a lawsuit against that place even if it was a special place to both her and Tina.
