    Author Notes:

    Angelica is 12 years old and has just decided, after many years of shared custody, that she would like to live full-time with Bette.

     

     

    Previously: 

     

    “Well, I’m really sick of moving from house to house every week,” Angelica admitted.

     

    Bette and Tina looked at their daughter in surprise. 

     

    “It’s like I don’t have a real address, I just travel between your homes, but neither one is mine,” she continued.  Tears started to well up in her eyes.  “My whole life revolves around which parent I’m with.” 

     

    “Honey, I didn’t know you felt that way,” said Tina, reaching over to soothe the crying girl. 

     

    “What can we do to make it better?” asked Bette.

     

    “I don’t know,” Angelica started to cry harder and Tina pulled her in closer to her body, tears forming in her eyes as well.

     

    “If you could have a perfect living arrangement,” asked Sarah, “what would it be?”

     

    Angelica sobbed for a few moments and then looked slowly at each parent.  “I think I want to live with Mama,” she whispered.

     

    Bette stared at Angelica for a moment and then fixated on Tina’s devastated face.

    Chapter 10

     

     

    “It’s Bette’s week anyway,” Tina thought to herself while walking around the house aimlessly touching each reminder of her daughter with longing.  “She’ll get to the end of this week and want to come home again.”

     

    She sat down on Angelica’s bed, made with all the care typical of a twelve-year-old girl.  As she smoothed out the numerous lumps and wrinkles, Tina’s eyes filled with tears.  The tears became sobs and soon she was hugging her daughter’s pillow to her chest, rocking like an autistic child, trapped in her grief.

    “Let’s play doubles!” exclaimed Angelica, bouncing up and down in her tennis whites.

     

    “That’s a bit tough when there are three of us,” laughed Tina.

     

    “I’m pretty confident I can take both of you,” bragged Angelica.  “Aunt Dana says I’m getting a mean backhand.”

     

    “Show us what you’ve got,” called Bette while crossing to the join Tina on the other side of the net.

     

    “Just go easy on Mommy,” Tina pleaded.

     

    “Family conference at the net,” Angelica directed sharply.

     

    Bette and Tina looked at each other and shrugged, but met their daughter in the middle of the court.

    10. So glad you’re back! I’ve missed this one. Bette and Tina need to get Angie to open up about what’s going on with her. Oh yeah, and Tina needs to come home too!! PPS!!! :)

    14. Me too, I want mommy, I mean mom, to come live with mamma, I mean mim at the mim’s house. Bette still has eyes for Tina, does Tina still have eyes for Bette?

    19. I was so thrilled to see you continuing this story!! Welcome back!! I am very curious to see how Tina realizes Angelica’s real reasons for choosing to live at Bette’s house and how she will respond to Mikey, as she is his only real parent….PPS!
