Shhh…Don’t tell anyone Part. 19
It’s been about seventeen years since that now, and today is a very very special day to the McCutcheon’s family.
– Mom!!! … I swear to God I’ll kill you… Mom!!! Come get Dylan out of my face. – Sam was trying to close her bedroom door while keeping her brother out, but he was stronger. Shane came from around a corner and glanced fiercely at her son who stopped pushing the door and moved away.
– Sam? Let me in honey, your brother is gone. – Sam, a tall white girl, with green eyes and short black hair (looked very much like Shane), opened the door with her eyes filled with tears, and jumped into her mom’s embrace. – Oh, honey… What’s wrong? Why are you crying?-
– Mommy… I’m scared… I didn’t even want a quinceañera party on the first place… And now I’m terrified… I do not want to dance in front of everybody, and I definitely don’t want to wear extensions on my hair. – Shane sighed and caressed her daughter’s face.
– I know, but it’s a family tradition and your grandma was very excited about it since the day you were born, do you remember? – Sam nodded into her mom. – Look I know it ain’t comfortable, I hate extensions too… Yes I had to wear them once, when I was dating your mother. But It’ll be worth it, you’ll make your family happy and that is very important.- Sam took a deep breath and tightened her grip for a second.
– Fine then… But you’ll have to help me put them on, ’cause I have no effing idea. – Shane nodded no.
– Kid, what in the world makes you think that I have one… Look at me; do I look like I know that stuff? And don’t say effing… – Sam laughed then stared at Shane and then nodded yes.
– Mother you are a hairstylist, aren’t you?-
– Yes, but none of my clients has ever requested extensions from me… Oh, alright, I’ll do it, but it will hurt. Just give me a second to go yell at your brother.- Shane left the room with the extensions in hand and a frighten expression on her face, when she got to the kitchen where Dylan was fixing himself a sandwich.
This day was important because her and Carmen’s youngest kid was having her quinceañera party, Samantha Nicole McCutcheon was only two years younger than Dylan. Shane and Carmen had decided that maybe three kids would be better than two, Shane was doing great, she opened her own shop and had a line of hair products, Carmen was working for the best radio station on the state, so they did it. When they found out that it was a girl Shane was glowing, for some reason she was very exited about having a daughter, and just like Dylan as soon as Sam was born and Shane hold her the bond was bigger than life instantly. Even though there were moments when Carmen felt a bit scared that Shane would go running for her life when times got a little rough, she didn’t. She stayed and they figured out everything together…
Now, Sam is turning fifteen and adjusting to high school, Dylan is barely seventeen getting ready to go to college and Shay is twenty seven, married, successful lawyer and proud parent of a 2 year old son, and three month old twin daughters.
